[He's at least empathetic, but then again-he knows exactly how the other feels. He felt the same way when he found out about this place, really.]

But they give you a power in 'return,' for being here and a member of one of their houses.

[A huff comes from him, and he shakes his head.]

I just wish it wasn't a downgraded version of a power I already had.

Doesn't matter. We were born with these powers, they were in our DNA. You don't fuck with that.

[He's just assuming that Ichigo is another mutant.]

[And Ichigo just assumes that's how his powers are back home. Hell, he was born with his as well, although he's not a mutant by any means.

Then again, he doesn't know the other is talking about mutants.]

I know, I know-It's not something that anyone should be able to just take away. But it's better than dying horribly every five minutes-you just have to suck it up and deal with it.

[That's not aimed at him at any means-it's what he had to do when he lost his powers before. He had no choice, and that experience helped him accept this more easily.]

Suck it up and - man, you are talking to the wrong guy. [He stands up, flexing the fingers of his free hand before curling them into a fist.] I'm not "dealing" with any of this. I'm not letting some so-called gods make a sucker of me. And if you're that whipped, then just stay out of my way.

Like hell I'm whipped-I just know from experience that you can't do a damned thing to the gods here. You want to know how I knew about the head exploding thing? Because people complained about not having their powers to the gods, so they gave them back knowing that people would end up dying horribly!

[For a while there, because of Freyr's sacrifice, he had felt more kindly towards the gods. But recounting what happened-and remembering that the one responsible for it had never apologized-just got him angry again.]

The only time one of them has actually died is when he blew himself up! And if you try to speak out against them, they'll probably just curse you with something, like they did to me.

Yeah, I get that they're assholes. I got that the first time I opened up my lighter. But assuming for a minute that these are gods, and not just overpowered mutants playing god - did you ever stop to think that it might've been a set-up? If they're so powerful, they could just explode people's heads and say it was because of their powers. Hell, I know a mutant back home who could probably pull the head-exploding trick, so we don't even have to believe all this god shit.

[He cocks his head, narrowing his eyes.] It's pretty convenient, isn't it, that the only powers to work here are the ones that they hand out? The ones they can control?

Yeah, I thought it might be a setup. That it might all be one big fucking lie and all they wanted to do was jerk us around for their amusement.

[Congrats, he's actually using the big swear words now.]

But all of that changed when I actually had to fight in the war to save them and every single world we're all from, alright? When I watched one of them blow himself up to save us because we were losing.

So they're gods, but they can die? Commit suicide, even? That's even more suspicious.

Think whatever the hell you want! Just don't be surprised if they get pissed off.

I'm terrified. [Flatly.] Look, just stay out of my way. I'll do whatever's got to be done, if no one else here will. Shit, this place is pathetic.
