It's less than ideal.

The gods'. I'm not entirely familiar with the mythology, but we've been brought here by the gods of Asgard, who are at war with the fire and ice giants. They want to destroy Asgard, and also the World Tree, which somehow connects all the worlds. There's something...wrong...here. Supposedly our presence can help that as well.

Yeah, that's in no way freaky or abnormal. So gods of legend, check. Destruction of a world, check. Heroes from another place? I guess it figures, but why take our powers? I was using mine!

According to the gods, our powers are all linked to the energies of our world, which are different than the energies here. They're incompatible. I've been told that it's fatal, to be given one's powers back here.

And since each House only has two potential powers, nobody gets 'dibs'.
