Welcome to the second season of the Asgard Eventide Test Drive Meme! This is your hostess, Noah, very pleased to bring this back after the success of our last drive.

Now the steps are the same as the last time. In fact, mostly copy-pasta:

[anguis]

Hello, Sam.

[Let me entertain you.]

It's been a while.

[Let me make you smile.]

[smartwinchester]

[There's half a moment of uncertainty -- because that doesn't make any sense. His hallucinations are very much in the present -- but there's something about this version of Lucifer that's different.]

-- you aren't real.

[Somewhat definitively.]

You aren't in my world. You won't be here.

You're better off staying where you are, in a cage.

[anguis]

[A slight turn of the head to the right and then a small smile.]

I'm very real.

[He spreads his hands slightly, leaning back a bit.]

A change of scenery for the dream. I think it's quite impressive.

[smartwinchester]

You can't pull this bullshit on me. I'm not an idiot.

[A bit heatedly.]

You're nothing but a figment of my imagination.

[anguis]

[Mock pout.]

I'm hurt, Sam. After all that we've shared?

[He smooths his hands together.]

We've been over this before.

[smartwinchester]

The only thing we've shared is a crock of shit destiny that doesn't matter.

[Snappishly.]

You lost. I won.

Do me a favor and stay out of the rest of my life.

[minifridge]

...Jacob?

[anguis]

[Well. Here's a face he wasn't exactly expecting. None of that shows on his face, though. He does offer a small, almost apologetic smile.]

I think you've mistaken me for someone else.

[minifridge]

[...]

Are you from Sam and Dean's world?

[Because no. No, come on, no. There's another person Mary knows of who supposedly has this face, and- no.]

[anguis]

It's not their world exclusively. Why, there's nearly seven billion people who would be able to contest that.

[He sighs lightly.]

It would be a semantics issue, I suppose.

[pontiac]

[Don't mind Jimmy, he has some vague recollection in the back of his mind somewhere itching at him and he feels like he should know you. That, or maybe the fact that he has some kind of magnetic pull for angels, demons, and shit he doesn't want since he willingly invited one into his body life.] Don't get too comfortable. [At least he's nice. Since he doesn't know who you are. This place stinks on ice.]

[anguis]

[Oh, Jimmy, you're definitely not the luckiest bloke in this most magical place decidedly not on Earth. Lucifer feels for you, he really does.]

[A slight turn of the head and curious smile.]

Is there any particular reason I shouldn't?

[pontiac]

Besides the war, pagan gods, and the mutant things that inhabit the area from time to time. I guess not, no.

[anguis]

[Slightly raised eyebrows. That actually tells Lucifer quite a lot about what to expect in this place. War and pagan gods are two things that Lucifer gets on a basic level pretty quickly, but -]

Could you define what you mean by "mutant things" exactly?

[pontiac]

I'm not the best one to ask... but fairies and dragons. The type of things you'd read in medieval fiction.

[Well, this is awfully strange.]

[It's one thing to look in a mirror and see your reflection staring back at you. But its quite another when that reflection is moving and talking and breathing and basically doing things that you aren't. Even for Jacob, who is so used to the bizarre that a green elephant flying in on a hang glider wouldn't even make him blink, the sight of Lucifer makes his pause, his eyes narrowing.]

...You wouldn't happen to be Lucifer, would you.

[anguis]

[Gotta agree with you there. On the scale of the bizarre, trans-dimensional body twins is definitely up there. Lucifer's looking at you with an expression that halfway skeptical and other parts intrigued and amused.]

Got it in one.

[He leans forward a bit, examining Jacob closer. Wow, you really do look like Nick. But you're not him.]

I don't believe we've met.

[corks]

The only reason I recognize you so well is because I've been having some troubles with mistaken identity in this place.

[His voice is calm and passive as always, and he doesn't even flinch as Lucifer leans in. But his remarkably old blue eyes tell a different story- they darken somewhat as he looks at the person in front of him who looks so much like him but will never be him at all.]

I'm Jacob. And no, I don't think we have. Not where I come from.

[anguis]

The mistake is understandable. We do look remarkably similar.

[Lucifer definitely does sound amused at that. If this place is crawling with humans as he suspects it is, then he can't expect them to be able to tell him apart from Jacob.]

[Nick didn't have a twin, so Jacob is probably not family. From the way Jacob phrased that last part, Lucifer suspects that Jacob probably isn't exactly human either.]

Jacob. A good name.

[Lucifer presses his hands together, glancing around them.]

I hedge to guess this is not your usual circumstance.

[corks]

It is rather obvious, isn't it?

[He nods and smiles slightly, though his watchful eyes never change.]

Thank you. I would say the same of yours, but then again, your name is not exactly revered in most cultures.

[Jacob shrugs at that last part.]

No, not at all. Then again, this place is far from usual, so why expect the usual from it at all?

[anguis]

[Lucifer inclines his head, turning his full attention back to Jacob with a rueful little smile.]

My name is not a name most humans have been inclined to revere. I have had to settle for infamy more often than not.

[He doesn't sound particularly disappointed or fussed about that.]

Would you mind clarifying what "far from usual" means in concern to this place? I'm not particularly fond of being caught unawares.

[Hello, Lucifer. Don't mind Alan kind of... skittering around with papers in his hand and looking pretty scared of everything going on around him. Why are these people faceless oh god oh god what do.]

[ Nose-wrinkle. ]

[ Assuming this is post-face-rotting forgive me if it's incorrect! ]
