❧ let's do this.- We have an Enable Me Please/App This Please meme up over here! Take a peek, see if maybe you have some potential castmates or characters you might want to try out.
- Anyone can post to the test drive meme, including duplicates! Please put your character name and canon in the title of your comment.
- All threads are considered open to everyone! Tag around and make some friends (or enemies)!
- If you decide to apply to the game, you can use your TDM threads for your app samples! You only need to provide seven comments if you use TDM samples.
- You can't really be late to a TDM! This will be considered open until the next one goes live next month.
- You can make up your own scenario, interact with one of the locations in the game, use the welcome process of your character waking or selecting a god house, or use our optional prompt below!
- You do not need to pick a god house to play on the TDM! You can have your character still in the process of discussing/deciding/despairing instead.
- If you are accepted to the game, you can keep TDM threads as game canon as long as you fudge some of the details depending on your original thread. If you aren't sure exactly how to do this, you can always ask a mod.
- Reserves open on June 24 at 12:01AM PST and close on June 30 at 11:59PM PST.
- Applications open on July 1 at 12:01AM PST and close on July 7 at 11:59PM PST.
- Please always feel free to contact the mods if you have any questions! Have fun, dear (future?) Wanderers. ♥
❧ optional scenario.A thunderstorm seems to have taken over Asgard's sky, dark clouds hanging eerily low and crackling with energy. The entire city is cast into a gloomy grey, the actual colors of the plants and buildings just a little more dull than normal. The air feels thick and heavy, even indoors, and the weather seems to be having varying effects on everyone.
A
sudden clap of thunder might bring back a sharp memory of the last time you were truly afraid of something.
A
bright flash of lightning might make your heart race with excitement and a sudden drive to do something you ordinarily wouldn't.
The
heavy downpour of rain might make you inexplicably sad about something, whether real or imagined.
These effects might only last a second, or perhaps they stay with you all day. Maybe you just have to get out of the rain and dry off, that's all - perhaps it's just normal weather.
Tuuri Hotakainen | Stand Still Stay Silent | Odin or Honir??? Choosing is hard.
[It's been all a very strange dream so far. After all, when she woke up, Tuuri found herself not in the familiar cramped space of the cat-tank, but probably the nicest bed she'd ever had the pleasure of sleeping in. And then the lady and the man and the welcome. Wanderers? Asgard? The bracelet? Clearly all her skaldic knowledge was mixing in her unconscious. ]
What a weird dream this is... [She wanders tentatively until her shin accidentally connects with a bed post.] Ow!
[ There's a long pause. Things aren't supposed to hurt in dreams, right? There's a dawning comprehension on her face as she realizes this isn't a dream. But instead of any sort of distress there seems to be excitement - and quite a lot of it - on the woman's face. ] Oh! This is real?!
[B. In Fregnahöll]
[Tuuri is taking every advantage a skald can get and is deep within the stacks of the library - You might catch her poring over books or juggling with stacks of books seemingly nearly as tall as her. Feel free to chat with her or maybe she's holding a book you're looking to get your hands on. ]
[C. Wild Card ]
[Anything goes - She's super-friendly!]
awakening c:
[ Standing nearby ( was he always there? ) is a man ( ??? ) with a bright smile and a little wave. Honir lives and breathes excitement, which is what drew him to hers. What a reaction! ]
Did the bed convince you? Should we get more of them for the others?
[ His question is terribly sincere. Maybe if they just give them a bed first, it'll be easier to believe - ]
1/2
[She crosses her arms for a moment, lips pursed to consider the bed question.]
I think the bed convinced me this was a dream at first... But I'm sure that it can help calm people down when they realize it isn't! It is a very nice bed.
[There's a pause as she looks around the room, something dawning on her face.]
2/2
Have you seen umm... [She gestures at a certain height] Someone this tall that is kinda skinny and has the same color hair as me? [Lalli is most likely a candidate for weird dream not dream shenanigans, right?]
no subject
I have! He's in my house, in fact. Would you like to see him?
no subject
That's great! Of course I want to see him soon. [There we go. There's some wiggle room for exploring.] Is he safe? What do you mean by your house?
c.
Not much of a social creature himself, Emil hasn't taken it upon himself to get too buddy-buddy with other people. Not approaching them, not going out of his way to get too friendly -- in short, he's not going up to most people and trying to make friends.
Whether or not she's still donning her uniform, or something else, there's a familiar silhouette about this person he's seeing. The body shape, the hair, the height -- but he's already talked about how that person isn't here and how strange it is. Hmm...well, he can't help but be curious. He slowly approaches, tapping them on the shoulder.
This is going to be really embarrassing if it's someone else. ) Uh. Excuse me...?
I'm pulling her from right before chapter 12 - she has no idea
Emil! You're here too! [There's a small intake of breath before she suddenly chatters full speed ahead.] How long have you been here? Is anyone else here? Isn't this amazing? It's kind of like a new adventure! What house are you in? What do you think of the gods? Are there trolls here?
i respect your desire to wound all of us, tbh
It's really stunning how happy she is to see him despite what the circumstances mean. It's hard to feel...insulted? By it? All together, seeing Tuuri and listening to her going a mile a minute is surreal right now. Even he can admit that there's a nice comfort in seeing another familiar face. )
Yes, yes, hello. ( At first Emil is stunned, tone and speed of voice reflecting that. After blinking for a moment, Emil finally finds it in him to be more cognizant. ) It's only been...a week or so? It's hard to keep track. You must have been here much longer.
( Instead of feeling excited, the more he thinks about it...the more it all feels so draining. A new adventure? It's so optimistic and he can't comprehend thinking like that. Maybe because it was a choice Tuuri made? But this wasn't his choice. )
Lalli is here. I'm in Tyr. He's annoying -- most of them are annoying. ( The information ticks off very dully. ) But you don't know if there are trolls?
I stand committed to the feelings train
I haven't been here for very long, only a few hours! You've been here a week? But I was just talking to you today.. Well.. Today back home. I'm not sure how it happened - I went to sleep and then woke up here. One minute we were traveling to the the pick-up point and the next here I am.
[ She does brighten up even more if it was possible upon hearing another confirmation Lalli is also here. ]
I'm so glad you two are here and I'm not alone. I mean, I hope everyone else will be okay while we're gone. But I think they will be! And the gods... They seem very...Interesting. [ She cants her head again. ] I figure if there's no trolls that means the sickness isn't here, right? [ Very important information for a non-immune person. ]
no subject
No, there's no trolls here. At least that I've seen...I haven't been traipsing through every district. I think I'd know, even without that though. ( Emil scans her up and down, still very unsure of this whole situation. Nothing about this place makes any logical sense, but if even the rules he's been presented with previously are going to break themselves...there's no point in trying to get it.
In fact, the look he gives her is one that's pretty sour. There's a panicked impulse to blurt out a bunch of emotional word vomit about being dead and now he's dead and even if things are crazy and she thinks she still alive then now she's definitely dead because that's how this place works and it sure is some shit, I tell you what!!
Actually, trying to keep it in is turning his stomach a little! The things he's doing for you, Tuuri! Quick, he has to say something that isn't traumatizing for one or both of them. )
Uh...so do you know what house you'll be staying in? ( Pretending it isn't already done, TDM, blah blah blah. Also please say nothing about the fact that he looks close to barfing. )
All your hard work is lost on her, Emil

Ah. Allow me.

Oh, thanks a lot! I just got so excited that I guess I got a little ahead of myself! Don't you think this place is kind of amazing?
no subject
It's very fascinating. I've had to resist taking so many books back to my room as well.
[He'll set his half of her stack onto a nearby table so she can start sorting.]
no subject
Thank you for the help -- There's a lot of books about the old world here and it's just really interesting poring through the information. Oh, you can take the books home?
I'm Tuuri, by the way!
no subject
[As for an introduction, he's a formal boy, so Tuuri gets a short, quick bow in greeting.]
Nice to meet you. Raidou Kuzunoha. I'm guessing you recently arrived?
(no subject)
gently screams into a vase in WILD CARD flavor shortly after her arrival
at least, he hasn't been so far. and at this very moment, stumbling to an uncharacteristically graceless stop about a hundred feet from where none other than tuuri is stepping through the palace's front gates, reconciling with false gods is the last thing on his mind - but maybe tonight, when this world's magic banishes emil and now tuuri to another part of the city to wait out the night, he might very well decide to hunt honir down for a chat.
for now, though, he kind of just... stares at her. tries to breathe past the pressure in his chest. tries to think while every part of him feels like he's on a raft far too small for the rapids he's found himself inexorably veering into. part of him almost wants to deny the reality of it, if only to regain some sense of equilibrium. he can still leave - he has time. she's far enough away, wide eyes taking in the place like she takes in everything, like it's some new and fascinating adventure. he actually tenses to do so,
but then she spots him, and it's all over.
he's moving at once, but instead of away, he finds himself sprinting toward her about as fast as his legs can carry him. it's as if he's briefly forgotten that he's not a touchy sort of person, because as soon as he reaches her, both arms wrap around her shoulders with alarming force. and with his first full breath since he saw her, he's insisting she's - ❱
- stupid, stupid, stupid - ❰ because that's the one (1) single way he knows how to deal with anything. ❱
Oh hai cousin
I promise I didn't end up here on purpose! And no one is stupid!
[ She's definitely confused by Lalli's reaction - Admittedly, this was normal. ]
no subject
so he's.... definitely peeling himself off of his cousin now, crossing his arms with a disgruntled mrr, which is shortly followed by: ❱ Which one did you choose? Was it Honir? ❰ there are nearly a dozen of them, but yes, obviously she's going to have made things easy by choosing the same one he chose without even knowing he's here. that's a 100% reasonable thing to expect of someone who already managed to come back from the dead. ❱
no subject
I haven't made the decision yet, because it seems really important even though I know we need to make a decision now, but I was thinking of Honir... Is that bad? [ Today is your lucky day, Lalli if you want your cousin in the same house as you... ]
no subject
grudgingly, he adds: ❱ If you don't like that one, Emil picked Tyr.

Where is your sense of adventure Lalli
i guess he needs tuuri to app in and kick his butt about it :')
Oh no twist my arm why don't you ;D

B I am YELLING and living for all these ssss characters!!
Uh ... Careful. I don't think Odin would appreciate you dropping any of those.
Glad to be of service!
I think I've got this!
[ There's a slow dangerous wobble as the stack and its owner make its way to a nearby table and a brief moment of suspense as the books are put down. ]
See? No trouble at all.
[ There's a loud succession of thuds in the quiet library as the topmost books decide to slide off the pile and make friends with gravity. There's a pause and a panicked whisper.]
I am so sorry.
[ If she's apologizing to Rhys for the noise or the books for dropping them, who's to say? She does look slightly embarrassed by that spectacle but least the books are still on the table kind of? ]
;u;
[ But the book is probably fine, and he's not sure how much he cares, so he won't say anything more about it.
Or, well, that depends on her reaction, actually. ]
no subject
[ She starts talking to Rhys whether he likes it or not as she starts to clean up her mess. Since being in Asgard, she's been genuinely curious about the other wanderers that have found themselves here. ]
Have you been here for very long? What do you think of this place so far?
