❧ let's do this.- We have an Enable Me Please/App This Please meme up over here! Take a peek, see if maybe you have some potential castmates or characters you might want to try out.
- Anyone can post to the test drive meme, including duplicates! Please put your character name and canon in the title of your comment.
- All threads are considered open to everyone! Tag around and make some friends (or enemies)!
- If you decide to apply to the game, you can use your TDM threads for your app samples! You only need to provide seven comments if you use TDM samples.
- You can't really be late to a TDM! This will be considered open until the next one goes live next month.
- You can make up your own scenario, interact with one of the locations in the game, use the welcome process of your character waking or selecting a god house, or use our optional prompt below!
- You do not need to pick a god house to play on the TDM! You can have your character still in the process of discussing/deciding/despairing instead.
- If you are accepted to the game, you can keep TDM threads as game canon as long as you fudge some of the details depending on your original thread. If you aren't sure exactly how to do this, you can always ask a mod.
- Reserves open on June 24 at 12:01AM PST and close on June 30 at 11:59PM PST.
- Applications open on July 1 at 12:01AM PST and close on July 7 at 11:59PM PST.
- Please always feel free to contact the mods if you have any questions! Have fun, dear (future?) Wanderers. ♥
❧ optional scenario.A thunderstorm seems to have taken over Asgard's sky, dark clouds hanging eerily low and crackling with energy. The entire city is cast into a gloomy grey, the actual colors of the plants and buildings just a little more dull than normal. The air feels thick and heavy, even indoors, and the weather seems to be having varying effects on everyone.
A
sudden clap of thunder might bring back a sharp memory of the last time you were truly afraid of something.
A
bright flash of lightning might make your heart race with excitement and a sudden drive to do something you ordinarily wouldn't.
The
heavy downpour of rain might make you inexplicably sad about something, whether real or imagined.
These effects might only last a second, or perhaps they stay with you all day. Maybe you just have to get out of the rain and dry off, that's all - perhaps it's just normal weather.

[ She starts talking to Rhys whether he likes it or not as she starts to clean up her mess. Since being in Asgard, she's been genuinely curious about the other wanderers that have found themselves here. ]
Have you been here for very long? What do you think of this place so far?
no subject
He leans back a little in his seat, and folds his arms. ]
It's been a few weeks. About a month, I guess? It's really different from where I come from, but mostly that's kind of a good thing. I probably wouldn't mind staying for a while, like a vacation, but I was in the middle of something important, so ...
[ A shrug. He wants to go home.
Hm ... ]
You just arrived, then?
[ More people? What's going on. ]
no subject
A month is a long time. I think this place is very different for a lot of us, I mean where I'm from everything is a little more dangerous. I mean not in the capitals or anything, but everywhere else. [ She glances at Rhys. ] I'm sorry you got pulled from something important. I was too - [ She does frown a little. ] I hope everyone left behind will be okay.
[ She continues on fixing the books, brightening up a little. There's no use being gloomy in a situation like this afterall! ]
Pretty much! I'm lucky that some of my teammates are here of course. But I'm just trying to think of it as a new adventure, you know? It's a new experience and that has to count for something.
no subject
[ Makes him wish he could have his teammates here. He wishes they could let him know how the whole mess in Old Haven turns out. If they're okay.
If people will keep appearing here, maybe there's a change, but he'd also rather just ... go home.
He scrubs a hand over his face, and then offers her a bit of a smile. He doesn't really intend to drag her spirits down or anything. ]
Well-- Welcome to Asgard, I guess. I'm Rhys.
no subject
[ She beams at Rhys. ] Thank you. Nice to meet you, Rhys - My name is Tuuri! [ She pauses for a moment. ] You said you've had enough of adventure - Did you live in a dangerous place too?
no subject
Yeah, you could say that. It's really ... unforgiving. Lots of animals and humans that want to kill you.
no subject
I can't say I've had a lot of human beings wanting to kill me where I'm from. Trolls on the other hand.. Well not me specifically, but people in general! [ She sounds a little more nonchalant with that statement than you'd think. When dangerous creatures and sickness prowling at the edge of what's left of society is your normal, it's hard not to sound like that. ]
no subject
Do I even want to know what trolls are?
Tuuri would gladly like to info dump on you
[ This is all said matter-of-factly of course. ]
He? Appreciates it??
His eyes widen, his expression some mix of shock and disgust. A rash that turns you into a monster? How does that even happen? ]
What kind of disease is that? It doesn't-- Doesn't sound real.
no subject
It's definitely real where I'm from. We've - The people still around I mean - been trying to find a cure for it for the past 90 years since the outbreak. At least the trolls aren't everywhere - Like the capitals are troll-free, and some military outposts... And most of the islands where I used to live.. [ Tuuri trails off a little, suddenly a little more reticent. We don't talk about Saimaa. ]
no subject
That's. That's just awful. I'm sorry.
no subject
I guess that does sound pretty dire when you say it out loud... But there's still good things in the world! There's still electricity and phone lines! Oh, and cakes! It can't be all bad if there's still cake. [ Tuuri doesn't do pessimism and it shows. ]
She is SO GOOD bless her
Cake, though-- ]
You're right. Cake is pretty great.
Cake is very fundamental also Tuuri is a good
If you still have that, you're still good.
[ She continues to be so ridiculously cheerful as she pivots conversation to Rhys now. ]
And how about where you're from? What is it like? Other than some animals and humans trying to kill you.
She is amazing
It depends a bit where you go. Where I'm from, we can travel between planets. I've only ever been to two but I'm pretty sure they're all pretty different from each other. Where I grew up was pretty peaceful, and it had schools and everything. You'll meet some terrible people, but that's probably true anywhere.
The planet with animals and humans that all wanna kill you is called Pandora. That's where I was before I ... was suddenly here. I wasn't planning on being there long, honestly, but things really, uh, didn't go according to plan. It's mostly desert? And daylight lasts ages. I've no idea how long I'd been awake before here.
You've gone and blown her mind
Between planets? That's amazing. Does it take a long time to travel between them? [ All she knows of traveling is boats and trains
with buzzsaws on them. She can't even begin to imagine how long travel must take. Months maybe? ] How do you travel between them?A desert? That's a place that's really hot and lots of sand, right? That sounds so neat. We don't have deserts where I'm from, but I've read about them in an old world book! [ She pauses thoughtfully. ] Daylight lasting ages does sound a lot like home in the summer.. The sun doesn't set at all for about two months! [ At least that's one thing she can fully comprehend. ]
[ Oh yeah, Rhys mentioned about things not going according to plan... ] Were you only supposed to be there for a short time?
<3
You like asking questions, don't you?
[ He doesn't sound angry, because he's not, it's just. It's a lot of questions. ]
Yeah, I was only going to be there for like ... An hour at most? If you're born on Pandora you probably learn to shoot a gun before you can walk, and I can't handle a gun, so I really have no business there. And we travel between planets using space ships, usually. You need a lot of power to break free from the gravitational pull of a planet, and then you need to have the speed to cross the distances between planets. We've got the tech to do it pretty quick by now, or we'd be talking like. Months, possibly longer than a year.
no subject
It's just that learning about where other people are from and what they have in their world is really interesting! If there's a part you don't want to answer, you don't have to! [ Of course she doesn't say she'll stop asking questions. ]
Pandora sounds like a pretty tough place.. I hope you're not alone on the planet at least! I don't really handle guns either - I'm a skald and a mechanic where I'm from. But I guess all these books could be a clue to that!
Space ships... That sounds really neat. I read about them once, but I don't know if the old world was as advanced. Maybe someday we'll have those. I can imagine it must be really cool to travel among the stars.

Everyday thing? That's amazing. Hmm..I don't get motion sickness. I know people who do, but I don't! I bet I'd be fine on one. [ Tuuri there's no space ships here, it doesn't matter whether or not you get motion sickness. ]
no subject
Yeah, I bet you'd be.
So-- You said you've got people you know here? Who are they?
