❧ let's do this.- Anyone can post to the test drive meme, including duplicates! Please put your character name and canon in the title of your comment.
- All threads are considered open to everyone! Tag around and make some friends (or enemies)!
- If you decide to apply to the game, you can use your TDM threads for your app samples! You only need to provide seven comments if you use TDM samples.
- You can't be "late" to a TDM! This will be considered open until the next one goes live next month.
- You can make up your own scenario, interact with one of the locations in the game, use the welcome process of your character selecting a god house, or use our optional prompt below!
- You do not need to pick a god house to play on the TDM! You can have your character still in the process of discussing/deciding/despairing instead.
- If you are accepted to the game, you can keep TDM threads as game canon as long as you fudge some of the details depending on your original thread. If you aren't sure exactly how to do this, you can always ask a mod.
- Reserves open on May 25 at 12:01AM PST and close on May 31 at 11:59PM PST.
- Applications open on June 1 at 12:01AM PST and close on June 7 at 11:59PM PST.
- Please always feel free to contact the mods if you have any questions! Have fun, dear (future?) Wanderers. ♥
❧ optional scenario. As you enter Asgard proper, many of the natives have gathered into curious crowds to greet these mysterious children of the World Tree. Some of them carry baskets of flowers and nervously offer one to any Wanderers that come near. They are vibrant and colorful, picked from the wilds surrounding Asgard, and they might have an odd effect on your character if they sniff the flowers directly.
Purple flowers will make your character very giggly and easily amused by everything they see and hear.
Orange flowers will make your character feel very warm all over, like the sun is beating down on them directly.
Blue flowers will make your character somewhat short and impatient with anything that seems like even a minor inconvenience to them.
Effects of the flowers can wear off anywhere between a few minutes to an hour. And for those new to Asgard, this scenario aligns with some of the general curses we might have in the game!

[ Anything to wipe his memory of recent events, at least for a bit.
Ah, well.
Eliot nudges their shoulders together as they walk. ]
This place probably doesn't even know what a cabana boy is. Now that's a crime.

[ Looking around, she's still a bit unimpressed, to be honest.] I'm sure we can convince somebody to put on some booty shorts and serve us mojitos.
no subject
[ Would booty shorts cheer him up? He's willing to give it a try, if it's an option. That plan can wait, though, because Eliot is certain he sees a sign above a door that implicates BOOZE. ]
We've found our oasis. Team work really does make the dream work.

I'll drink fucking well gin at this point.

[ Eliot holds the door open and waves a hand, inviting Margo in before him. Like the gentleman he is, thank you kindly. ]
After you, m'lady. Find us a good table and and I'll find us the biggest servings of whatever we can get.

[ What? She's definitely had sex with a guy who went to prison once. White Collar crimes probably.
She steps inside and looks around. It's not the nastiest place they've been so... win? She taps her nose when he gives her the plan and saunters off to find a table.
Which she does, by a window. People watching in this place is a must.]

[ He lets her go as he makes his way to the bar. Needless to say, there are no specialty cocktails available but Eliot goes back to Margo carrying two generous flagons of mead. ]
When in Rome, as they say.
[ Eliot doesn't even wait to toast. He takes a drink and maybe it's just because he hasn't had a real drink in a hot second, but it's good. Or maybe it's something like the opium in Fillory's air and there's something in it to make it addictive. Like cocaine. ]
Great. Now that we can think clearly, what the hell do we do?

Figure out if anyone else is here and then get the hell out of here since I'm guessing magical rabbits aren't a thing here. [ Pause.] I never thought I'd say it but I hope Penny's around somewhere so we can just catch a ride.

What do we do, pass out flyers and offer a reward if anyone finds our friends?
[ The area doesn't seem to be aggressively populated, at least. And if they're friends are here, it's usually par for the course that they all bump into each other. ]

[ If Eliot only gets one person, he’s honestly glad it’s Margo. He can’t imagine life without her, really, and she’s honestly the most resilient person he’s ever known. He needs her. Especially now. ]
But it’d be nice if some of them were here. I guess.

[ Does Eliot become a little melancholy? Absolutely. He hides it behind a loooong drink of his mead, watching the people pass outside the window. ]
Who do you want to see more? Penny-40 or Penny-23?
[ He’s trying to lighten the mood. ]

[ Meaning, Margo's right, Penny-23 didn't bitch as much. And being stuck in Fillory, it's not as if Eliot got the luxury of bonding time like everyone else did. ]
What if we got both?
[ Said with a sudden look of vague dread. ]

[ Eliot smiles across the table at her. ]
But if I could get a few days to just not do anything, that'd be pretty great, too.

[ at his words, she looks at him empathically.] You and me both. As much as I live for the drama, I'm good for a while.

[ It's no Ibiza, but. What is, honestly? ]
We can throw a party, charge people twenty ... Whatever the currency is, per head. We'll be entrepeneurs.
