❧ let's do this.- Anyone can post to the test drive meme, including duplicates! Please put your character name and canon in the title of your comment.
- All threads are considered open to everyone! Tag around and make some friends (or enemies)!
- If you decide to apply to the game, you can use your TDM threads for your app samples! You only need to provide seven comments if you use TDM samples.
- You can't be "late" to a TDM! This will be considered open until the next one goes live next month.
- You can make up your own scenario, interact with one of the locations in the game, use the welcome process of your character selecting a god house, or use our optional prompt below!
- You do not need to pick a god house to play on the TDM! You can have your character still in the process of discussing/deciding/despairing instead.
- If you are accepted to the game, you can keep TDM threads as game canon as long as you fudge some of the details depending on your original thread. If you aren't sure exactly how to do this, you can always ask a mod.
- Reserves open on May 25 at 12:01AM PST and close on May 31 at 11:59PM PST.
- Applications open on June 1 at 12:01AM PST and close on June 7 at 11:59PM PST.
- Please always feel free to contact the mods if you have any questions! Have fun, dear (future?) Wanderers. ♥
❧ optional scenario. As you enter Asgard proper, many of the natives have gathered into curious crowds to greet these mysterious children of the World Tree. Some of them carry baskets of flowers and nervously offer one to any Wanderers that come near. They are vibrant and colorful, picked from the wilds surrounding Asgard, and they might have an odd effect on your character if they sniff the flowers directly.
Purple flowers will make your character very giggly and easily amused by everything they see and hear.
Orange flowers will make your character feel very warm all over, like the sun is beating down on them directly.
Blue flowers will make your character somewhat short and impatient with anything that seems like even a minor inconvenience to them.
Effects of the flowers can wear off anywhere between a few minutes to an hour. And for those new to Asgard, this scenario aligns with some of the general curses we might have in the game!
Steve Rogers | MCU
[ Even before the ice Steve knew about the Norse gods. Being as sick as he was as a child reading was something he could always do. Books on mythology were among some of his favorites, though he always thought of them as fairy tales.
Then he got frozen for sixty-eight years and met Thor and fought Loki and well, he had a lot of views to reassess.
Still, showing up in Asgard was surprising, especially considering Thor had told him it was destroyed. With that in mind it was easy to accept that this was a different world altogether, one that was probably not even connected to his. If Fury was here he would owe him another ten bucks....he probably owed him more than that at this point.
With seemingly no way to get home yet Steve figures he might as well get to know the area, get the lay of the land so to speak. If he showed up here than anyone he knew could and he figured it was better to have some answers to questions he was sure they would ask.
Except he’s not entirely sure where he seems to have wandered to. ]
Sorry, can someone point me in the right direction?
2. Flowers- Purple
[ The Asgard natives seem really eager to welcome the newcomers into the city, its nice considering they are all strangers to this world. Who is Steve to deny that? So he takes a flower when it’s offered. Bringing it to his nose. It’s sweet but floral and a pleasant smells so Steve doesn’t think to put it down, carrying it as he wanders.
It’s not long after that that he feels a laugh bubbling up from his chest, he’s not sure what’s causing it- nothing is particularly funny about the situation until it is and Steve can’t stop the laugh anymore. ]
I’m sorry, I don’t know why I’m laughing.

1. Exploring | Endgame Spoilers ahoy
When the familiar voice reaches his ears his head snaps towards it and his face goes through a quick array of emotions, from surprise to recognition and finally relief. He walks over the man rather enthusiastically, voice loud.
"Rogers! Captain, er, USA. Finally, someone who looks familiar. Hello, I...I'm not sure how I ended here."
Endgame Spoilers ahoy
“Quill. Good to see a familiar face.” He holds out his hand for a friendly handshake. “Can’t say I’m clear on how I got here either. Even after everything saying magic really doesn’t sit right.”

"I thought this place didn't exist any more, Thor said it was gone." Peter frowned at the memory but it had a layer of sympathy to it. As much as the Asgardian and he argued and traded barbs, Peter knew the man wouldn't joke about something like his home being gone.
"I tried to contact my team and some others but no luck. And I've got those..." Raising his free hand, Peter shows Steve the silver bracelet. "Can't break them, can't pick the lock...I haven't tried shooting at them yet, I like having two hands."
no subject
"Yeah, I didn't either. I'm not sure this is the same Asgard. At least not the one Thor knew." Could this be what happens after Asgard is destroyed?
"Yeah, I do too." He holds up his own hand. "I think maybe hold off on the shooting for the moment. I haven't come across any of the other Avengers yet either. It might be just us."
no subject
Peter looks around, avoiding Steve's eyes with the excuse of inspecting their surroundings. He has no idea what the real Asgard was like or how they got here but Roger assumptions seem to be correct.
"Might be a new one? Asgard is supposed to be a mystical place so maybe it rises from its ashes, like a Phoenix." Any guess is just that, though, a wild guess. "If that's the case, we will need to make the best of it. Somehow."
no subject
[ It’s a good a guess as any. ] Could be, though that doesn’t explain why it pulled us here. But you’re right, we might as well make the best of it until we figure it out.

[ Given how Gamora decided to put a disappearing act, meeting her is going to be tricky. The Guardian had been lucking for her and now being stuck here in this world is putting a damper on that. It's another of the reason why Peter is so frustrated. But Steve doesn't need to be burdened with all that, Peter is grateful enough that the man doesn't seem to hate his guts after what happened. ]
Maybe it has an affinity for broken things. [ Peter gives him a smile that is way too cheerful to be heartfelt. ]All the God-like beings I've met in the past enjoyed making my life a nightmare, I don't expect it to he any different here.

That's alright, sir! It's the flowers! The purple ones are the giggly-ones!

The flowers?

The purple ones make you giggly, the orange ones make you feel all warm and lovely inside, and then the blue ones make you mad... that is mad as in angry not mad as well... mad.
And so you're a giggly sort now!
1, spoilers are fine
However early or late he spots her, though, the girl notices him as well. She looks a little surprised, and for a moment awkwardly shifts before remembering, oh yes, she has to walk. So she does that, heading in his direction. ]
Mr. Rogers! It is good to see you.

I'm sorry. I don't think we've met before. Or at least not to my recollection.

Also he was there when her duplicate slash sister died and then she uploaded her mind into her dead sister's body, but she figures it would be rude to point this out.]I am Vision's daughter, Viv.
Spoilers in here now
His daughter?
[ It’s a small blessing he knows about time travel and alternate timelines now. ]
I have a feeling the Steve Rogers you met might not be me, or not me yet anyway.
[ but in his world Vision is dead and...wow he does not what to say that. ]
spoilers woot woot
I can see how that would be confusing. I have not been around for very long, so even a relatively short temporal displacement would mean that you do not know me.
1. ( is this a good idea? probably not.)
Tony has a few interesting scribbles on a sheet of paper (okay, it was more of like a napkin but details) and he seems to be trying to figure out based on foliage and building design where it is that he has wandered. he has an idea, mind you, but one can never be too careful with directions in places where you aren't sure the usual rules of physics apply.
the engineer is walking around, head down of course, when he hears the questions. he doesn't look up while he snorts.]
Right direction for what? The library? The bar? One of the nine too many temples for gods that want us to bind ourselves to them? Need a little more to go on there-- [ now he looks up.
and stops.
hang on.
wait a second.
Tony squints, leans in like he isn't quite sure what it is he is seeing (because he isn't) but also he is pretty sure he knows that face.
kind of.
a version of it.
after about five seconds too long of him squinting:] Steve?
This is a GREAT idea!
That’s not Tony but
...it is. Somehow. ]
Tony?
hERE IS TO HOPING IT IS. (also spoilers are fine fyi)
with a sharp laugh, Tony claps a hand on Steve's shoulder and squeezes.]
I would say the one and only but I know there are quite a few of me, but yeah. Tony. A Tony, not the one you're used to though I'm sure. You out for a stroll, or patrolling the parameters to make sure this place is as safe as they claim it is?
[ you don't actually need to answer that, he has a good idea if you're anything like the Steve he knows. ]

Multiverses is not something he’s verse in yet. ]
Uh. Both. Kinda. Getting the lay of the land... okay but how? How are you- why. Is there another me here?
[ So confused. Do you see his confused face? ]
