They don't know one another very well yet, but Chie is the kind of friend Nakama always hoped for, I think - very lighthearted and outgoing, quick to see the best in things, and not too prying or nosy. She feels like she could go their entire friendship without getting into the worst of what she's been through, and that's okay, because that's not what their friendship will be about; it's about having fun, cheering one another up, that sort of thing. It doesn't have to plunge into the depths like some do, and since she's got people for that, it's okay for things to stay that way.

On the other hand, if something does come up, she has the sense that Chie will be supportive and try to help her through it. It's not that she doesn't want to tell her anything - it's just that it doesn't feel necessary, which is a breath of fresh air.
