❧ optional scenario.A thunderstorm seems to have taken over Asgard's sky, dark clouds hanging eerily low and crackling with energy. The entire city is cast into a gloomy grey, the actual colors of the plants and buildings just a little more dull than normal. The air feels thick and heavy, even indoors, and the weather seems to be having varying effects on everyone.

sudden clap of thunder might bring back a sharp memory of the last time you were truly afraid of something.
A
bright flash of lightning might make your heart race with excitement and a sudden drive to do something you ordinarily wouldn't.
The
heavy downpour of rain might make you inexplicably sad about something, whether real or imagined.
These effects might only last a second, or perhaps they stay with you all day. Maybe you just have to get out of the rain and dry off, that's all - perhaps it's just normal weather.

So not so far behind to make things awkward. [ It had been easy to avoid certain conversations because of the whole 'giant demon tree' situation. Here? From the looks of things there is nothing that might save him from that. ] Well, at least I don't have to catch him up on much else─
A conversation you weren't there for, brother dear. [ Haha, shit. ] I may have had to tell the kid you're his father so he wouldn't go chasing after you, alright? He had no idea what he was gonna get himself into and I wasn't about to let him get himself killed.

[ What was that about making things awkward? Was there a tenuous decision not to stab Dante? Vergil may or may not be strongly reconsidering that choice. His grip tightens on the Yamato on instinct, but—
Calm. They don't have their abilities here. Stabbing Dante would actually have consequences, now — an odd thing to consider. Besides, Dante had been the one to tell him that Nero was his son. Vergil still isn't certain how Dante had known in the first place, but perhaps some leeway can be...allowed.
So Vergil takes a deep breath, raises his chin as he looks at Dante. ]
You had no way of knowing the outcome of that fight — nor the truth of his heritage. What makes you so certain that you were right?

Surprised that he hasn't already.
Dante exhales, heavily, raising a hand to pinch the bridge of his nose. They never really had that conversation, did they? Too busy trying to kill each other to really stop and talk about the whole Nero situation. Didn't help that the kid practically came crashing in and interrupting their fight. (He can still feel his jaw throb from that backhand.) The hand falls to rest on his hip, humor all but gone from his expression. ]
I know you, Vergil, and I so happen to know the kid better than you do. The way he was? He couldn't have lasted very long against you. He would've put up a good fight, might have even made you try a little, but in the end I know who would have come out on top.
[ He doesn't think Nero weak, not at all. His limit is just no where near Dante's or Vergil's. ]
As for his heritage? Come on, you think I'm that stupid? I saw the way Yamato reacted to him. [ He motion towards the sword. ] Before the kid came along that thing was in pieces. If it wasn't for him I doubt Yamato would have ever recovered.
And he sure as hell isn't mine.
