❧ let's do this.- We have an Enable Me Please/App This Please meme up over here! Take a peek, see if maybe you have some potential castmates or characters you might want to try out.
- Anyone can post to the test drive meme, including duplicates! Please put your character name and canon in the title of your comment.
- All threads are considered open to everyone! Tag around and make some friends (or enemies)!
- If you decide to apply to the game, you can use your TDM threads for your app samples! You only need to provide seven comments if you use TDM samples.
- You can't really be late to a TDM! This will be considered open until the next one goes live next month.
- You can make up your own scenario, interact with one of the locations in the game, use the welcome process of your character waking or selecting a god house, or use our optional prompt below!
- You do not need to pick a god house to play on the TDM! You can have your character still in the process of discussing/deciding/despairing instead.
- If you are accepted to the game, you can keep TDM threads as game canon as long as you fudge some of the details depending on your original thread. If you aren't sure exactly how to do this, you can always ask a mod.
- Reserves open on June 24 at 12:01AM PST and close on June 30 at 11:59PM PST.
- Applications open on July 1 at 12:01AM PST and close on July 7 at 11:59PM PST.
- Please always feel free to contact the mods if you have any questions! Have fun, dear (future?) Wanderers. ♥
❧ optional scenario.A thunderstorm seems to have taken over Asgard's sky, dark clouds hanging eerily low and crackling with energy. The entire city is cast into a gloomy grey, the actual colors of the plants and buildings just a little more dull than normal. The air feels thick and heavy, even indoors, and the weather seems to be having varying effects on everyone.
A
sudden clap of thunder might bring back a sharp memory of the last time you were truly afraid of something.
A
bright flash of lightning might make your heart race with excitement and a sudden drive to do something you ordinarily wouldn't.
The
heavy downpour of rain might make you inexplicably sad about something, whether real or imagined.
These effects might only last a second, or perhaps they stay with you all day. Maybe you just have to get out of the rain and dry off, that's all - perhaps it's just normal weather.
Skipta Mál ~
Mostly, even after being displaced time and time again, having something familiar is nice to go to.
So while Julia might speak to the first person she sees, the person who actually answers is Eliot. ]
Light ale and mead. I guess I'll have to try and work on some champagne orchards here, too. Hi, Julia.
[ He smiles, patting the seat beside him. ]
Nice to see you.

[ She has so many questions, but they just rest on the tip of her tongue. There'd be time and tonight couldn't be about that. ] I'm sure they wouldn't mind some variety in their booze choices. [ And it'll probably go better than the attempts in Fillory. ]
Nice to see you too. [ Fingers rest on her lap, toying with the fabric of her sleeve as she looks around - taking in her surroundings. Opting for the lightest of the questions she could muster, Julia lets her gaze rest on Eliot. ] So which of the two would you recommend if you were looking to get drunk?
no subject
Probably the mead. It's an acquired taste but I'm pretty sure the ale has the same effect of a Bud Light. You can get a flagon.
[ Get the flagon, Julia, it's very impressive. ]
Have you seen Quentin yet?

Everything pauses, though, at the mention of her best friend. Palms press into the surface of the bar, fingers splaying as she tries to decide if she's happy or worried to hear that. Fingers relaxing, she opts for neither, just accepting a bit of relief. While she may not know Eliot as well as she knows Q, she's glad he's not alone here. And selfishly, she feels the same. ]
Q's here? Anyone else?
no subject
[ Eliot's just going to go ahead and order a flagon for each of them. He realizes that this might turn out to be the most time he's ever spent with her, and he doesn't recall a time when it's ever just been the two of them.
Huh.
Chalk one up for budding friendship, right? ]
He chose Heimdall, so you'll maybe find him around there, but. You know. He's a big nerd and this place is full of nerd fodder, but if you just sort of loiter you'll probably find him.

She tries to keep her tone even, tries to stay light - grasp onto that positive of having the time to get to know Eliot. This would be fun. She wasn't going to bring down the mood for flagon drinking. ]
Heimdall. I'm not surprised. Q's pretty loyal. [ It's a good pick if this is all legit. She keeps her other questions to herself for now, like grilling Eliot about which God he chose and so on, instead trying to keep it all general until the flagons get here. ] I'm sure I'll be able to track him down tomorrow. [ Who knows, he might even find her first. ]
How long have you all been here?
no subject
There's a vague scoff when she says Quentin is loyal. She's not wrong. That's an entirely different thing all together, but it does make him realize he should probably figure something out. ]
Not long. A few weeks, at best? Hey - This might be a weird question, but just go with it. What's the last thing you remember before you got here? Me, Quentin, Margo, we all seem to come from a different point in time. Not the timelines, we're all from the fortieth timeline, but we all ...
[ Fuck, this is really hard to explain. ]
It's like we did a Netflix binge and I stayed up to finish the show, but they both fell asleep half way through the season and aren't caught up to me. But the show is our lives.

Putting it down, she clears her throat and wipes her mouth with the back of her hand. ]
You're right, it is definitely a unique taste. [ Running a finger over the texture of the flagon, her forehead creasing slightly as she tries to organize her thoughts. ]
You were all in my head. I was with Fen trying to stop Skye from dying and we were singing. [ She shakes her head, looking at her hands. ] I stopped time. She was bleeding out and I literally froze her.
no subject
Yeah. You're full of surprises. [ Well. ] Not here. No magic at all, so I'm glad we wasted our time the way we did.
[ He doesn't really mean that. Mostly. The quests had some damn good perks but in the end, Eliot doesn't think magic was worth it. And he hates that he's the only one who knows what happens to them. ]
If it's any consolation, there probably also won't be singing here.
old ass tdm tags comin' in hot
[ She's fucking salty and she sounds salty. The bitterness sours her tongue, Julia taking another exceptionally long swig from the flagon in a sorry attempt to wash it away. Pissed was one way she could frame her thoughts, but that's just a surface emotion. She knows she's scared and she'd made a promise to herself that she'd never be so naive again.
Yet, here she was. Faced with the knowledge that either she can choose for herself or one will be chosen for her - like a shitty midnight court attorney with a stack of cases a mile high and no actual interest or care for her.
Putting the flagon down, she wipes her mouth with the back of her hand - a laugh escaping. It's easy to hold onto the humor and self-depreciation in the hopes of moving the conversation back to a lighter place. ]
That's probably for the best. Singing isn't exactly my strong suit. [ She grabs the flagon again to offer a little toast to him. ] You, on the other hand. Pretty good.

[ Eliot gives her a light smile. It’s the sort of smile that says “I see that we’re avoiding the gods issue and I’m going to play along because I feel like you don’t need this shit right now.” ]
Quentin’s going to be happy to see you. He keeps saying he hopes you show up with everyone else. As if I’m not good enough company or something. [ He smirks a bit, then laughs. ] You missed the weird as fuck disco party they threw for us.
