❧ let's do this.- Anyone can post to the test drive meme, including duplicates! Please put your character name and canon in the title of your comment.
- All threads are considered open to everyone! Tag around and make some friends (or enemies)!
- If you decide to apply to the game, you can use your TDM threads for your app samples! You only need to provide seven comments if you use TDM samples.
- You can't be "late" to a TDM! This will be considered open until the next one goes live next month.
- You can make up your own scenario, interact with one of the locations in the game, use the welcome process of your character selecting a god house, or use our optional prompt below!
- You do not need to pick a god house to play on the TDM! You can have your character still in the process of discussing/deciding/despairing instead.
- If you are accepted to the game, you can keep TDM threads as game canon as long as you fudge some of the details depending on your original thread. If you aren't sure exactly how to do this, you can always ask a mod.
- Reserves open on May 25 at 12:01AM PST and close on May 31 at 11:59PM PST.
- Applications open on June 1 at 12:01AM PST and close on June 7 at 11:59PM PST.
- Please always feel free to contact the mods if you have any questions! Have fun, dear (future?) Wanderers. ♥
❧ optional scenario. As you enter Asgard proper, many of the natives have gathered into curious crowds to greet these mysterious children of the World Tree. Some of them carry baskets of flowers and nervously offer one to any Wanderers that come near. They are vibrant and colorful, picked from the wilds surrounding Asgard, and they might have an odd effect on your character if they sniff the flowers directly.
Purple flowers will make your character very giggly and easily amused by everything they see and hear.
Orange flowers will make your character feel very warm all over, like the sun is beating down on them directly.
Blue flowers will make your character somewhat short and impatient with anything that seems like even a minor inconvenience to them.
Effects of the flowers can wear off anywhere between a few minutes to an hour. And for those new to Asgard, this scenario aligns with some of the general curses we might have in the game!

Oh! Okay!
[ Honir sits up excitedly in his seat, making enough space to summon a table between them. Then two teacups and a kettle clatter into place. A second later, the kettle wheezes a little puff of steam, and lifts up to fill both cups before settling back down on the table.
Honir leans on the arm rest of his seat with a curious smile. ]
So tell me about the last few days!
[ roll: tales ep1??? ]

Honestly, can these gods just conjure up whatever they wanted? Wow. Imagine having that kind of power. That'd be handy. ]
Right. Going straight for the long story. Okay. Background info: Where I'm from, humans live on a bunch of different planets. There's one called Pandora that's ... honestly a terrible place. Lots of nasty things there that wanna kill you. But people go there because it's got this thing called eridium that's really valuable, and these other things called vaults. Vaults are basically like ... caves filled with treasure, or so the stories go anyway. But you need a vault key to get into a vault, and vault keys are either really difficult to find or really expensive.
This, uh, story - my story - starts with a vault key.

Ooh, so you found a treasure to lead you to more treasure. Now that sounds like an adventure!
[ Honir is completely enraptured already, please tell us everything. ]

Anyway, I work for this company called Hyperion. It's full of assholes, but it's good money. I was getting promoted by my boss, Henderson, to take his place, except when I got to his office - I'm getting to the vault key, by the way - Henderson wasn't there. Instead I found this guy named Vasquez, who's one of the worst people I've ever met and who keeps trying to screw me over, and he's taken my job. Or, well, Henderson's job, technically, but it was gonna be mine!
So he's there, spinning around in his chair like some evil overlord. All that's missing is a stupid laugh and, like, a cat. And-- This is on a space station, by the way, and I dunno what you know about space, but generally you wanna stay out of it. So this bastard Vasquez decided he wanted Henderson's job and just ... chucked him into space and took it.
[ Are you having fun yet, Honir? ]

Wow! This Vasquez sounds like a rude one! I'm sorry to hear about your Henderson friend.
[ Frienderson? Honir snorts a laugh into his hand, then goes right back to waiting excitedly for the rest of the story. ]

He, uh, definitely wasn't my friend, but thanks. I'm sure he appreciates it.
So instead of getting a promotion, I get demoted to janitor, because Vasquez is a dick and I couldn't really say no since he's my new boss. Which is the worst. Then he gets a phone call - actually he got the phone call first and demoted me later, but details.
[ He waves a hand. ]
I dunno if he has speaker phone as default because he doesn't want to move a muscle if he can help it, but the guy on the other end, August, is on speaker, which means I can hear him. So he asks Vasquez ...
[ And here he puts on an as close impression of August as he possibly can. It's not super accurate. ]
'Are you buying this Vault Key or what?' And Vasquez is like, [ another not great impression, ] 'I thought I had more time, that's a lot of money, I'm Vasquez and not Rhys's awesome bro Vaughn who can transfer the money in the blink of an eye.'
Long story short, since Vasquez decided to screw me over, I decide to screw him over. My eye used to be able to scan things, so I scan and hack his computer that has all the info about that Vault Key. What it looks like, where to pick it up, stuff like that. So once I get out of the office, me and my friends make a plan to get there and buy the key before him.
