You can make up your own scenario, interact with one of the locations in the game, use the welcome process of your character selecting a god house, or use our optional prompt below! You do not need to pick a god house to play on the TDM! You can have your character still in the process of discussing/deciding/despairing instead. If you are accepted to the game, you can keep TDM threads as game canon as long as you fudge some of the details depending on your original thread. Wanderers. ♥ ❧ optional scenario. As you enter Asgard proper, many of the natives have gathered into curious crowds to greet these mysterious children of the World Tree. Some of them carry baskets of flowers and nervously offer one to any Wanderers that come near. They are vibrant and colorful, picked from the wilds surrounding Asgard, and they might have an odd effect on your character if they sniff the flowers directly. Purple flowers will make your character very giggly and easily amused by everything they see and hear. Orange flowers will make your character feel very warm all over, like the sun is beating down on them directly. Blue flowers will make your character somewhat short and impatient with anything that seems like even a minor inconvenience to them. Effects of the flowers can wear off anywhere between a few minutes to an hour. And for those new to Asgard, this scenario aligns with some of the general curses we might have in the game! navigation.

[ Her words bring him back to the present. To the fact that they are in the middle of the street and people are around them. His focus had narrowed down into Peggy and he had forgotten they weren’t alone. There aren’t many people who can do that to him- just one in fact. The one looking at him expectantly.

There is a conversation they need to have- more than one probably, and he knows they can’t have it here. Peggy is smart, sharp, she is going to know he’s not the same man who crashed the plane into the ocean- not anymore. ]

[ she's acutely aware of him walking at her side, shoulder against shoulder, as they did in the bunkers in london, in the hills of eastern europe. it brings back old memories and it's overwhelming how easy it is, to fall into step beside him again, walking side by side. she wants to - what? take his arm? lace it in hers? affirm he's there an not a momentary hallucination.

she thought about him so often, of a chance of another conversation. what would she say, if she could?

she takes a seat on a little bench in the park, far from others; isolated, almost. ]

I have a sure feeling, Captain, that your last memory before this - asgard, has not been the Valkyrie.

[ It’s probably not the conversation she’s ever expected to have with him. It’s a conversations he’s had with her before though, unfortunately more than once. But he has a feeling this time is going to be different than the last few.

He sits down next to her, angling his body so they are face to face and now just side by side. He can’t help his eyes roaming over her face, taking her in. She’s younger than the Peggy he had just seen in 1970, she can’t be much older than the one he left in 1945. He wants to reach out and take her hand but he hesitates. ]

No, it’s not. [ He glances down and then back up to her, it’s not an easy conversation. ] my last memory before coming here is from 2023.

2023.

[ she does the math on her own. there are seventy-seven years between them. And he looks - not the same, no. He's a changed man but he's young. She doesn't know the details of it, doesn't know how erskine's serum kept him alive, only that it did. for a moment, something in her expression falters. It was only a few days ago when she talked about steve and on an entirely different context. Something inside her threatens to break. ]

Howard was looking for you. I told him he has to move on. we've left you.

[ he was alive, or else, how is he now? ]

[ this time Steve does reach out for her hand. He clasps it in both of his, trying to give her comfort, reassurance. ]

He didn’t stop. Though he isn’t who found me. Well not technically at least. I was found by an organization called SHIELD, which is what the SSR turned itself into eventually. [ He has a feeling the name alone can will give away who had a hand in founding it. ]

But the arctic is a hard place to look for things, it’s always shifting and changing. I don’t even think they were looking for me, just the plane. And I don’t think anyone knew I would be alive. They didn’t find me until 2011. The serum kept me alive and frozen for all that time.

[ it's all a lot to take. years, dates, SHIELD, her probable connection to it all. peggy takes a deep breath. she has a feeling that once she allows herself a measure of privacy in the room she's been assigned, that she'll spend her night crying in an overwhelming combination of guilt and relief. He's alive, that alone shakes her to the core. if they looked harder - ]

those years haven't been easy.

[ she notes. it's clear from how he carries himself, as if there's a terrible burden on his shoulders. the future hasn't been kind. ]

Is it that obvious?

[ He goes for lighthearted, because he’s not sure he can do anything else. No easy is an understatement, especially the last five years. But he doesn’t even know how to describe the last five years to someone who didn’t live it. Some days it all still seems so unfathomable. All of it does. Every moment since he crashed that plane. ]

It was...well, it was what it was. It wasn’t all bad. There are some good people in the future, some good friends.

[ and two of them were dead now. And he still didn’t know how to process that. ]
