❧ let's do this.- Anyone can post to the test drive meme, including duplicates! Please put your character name and canon in the title of your comment.
- All threads are considered open to everyone! Tag around and make some friends (or enemies)!
- If you decide to apply to the game, you can use your TDM threads for your app samples! You only need to provide seven comments if you use TDM samples.
- You can't be "late" to a TDM! This will be considered open until the next one goes live next month.
- You can make up your own scenario, interact with one of the locations in the game, use the welcome process of your character selecting a god house, or use our optional prompt below!
- You do not need to pick a god house to play on the TDM! You can have your character still in the process of discussing/deciding/despairing instead.
- If you are accepted to the game, you can keep TDM threads as game canon as long as you fudge some of the details depending on your original thread. If you aren't sure exactly how to do this, you can always ask a mod.
- Reserves open on May 25 at 12:01AM PST and close on May 31 at 11:59PM PST.
- Applications open on June 1 at 12:01AM PST and close on June 7 at 11:59PM PST.
- Please always feel free to contact the mods if you have any questions! Have fun, dear (future?) Wanderers. ♥
❧ optional scenario. As you enter Asgard proper, many of the natives have gathered into curious crowds to greet these mysterious children of the World Tree. Some of them carry baskets of flowers and nervously offer one to any Wanderers that come near. They are vibrant and colorful, picked from the wilds surrounding Asgard, and they might have an odd effect on your character if they sniff the flowers directly.
Purple flowers will make your character very giggly and easily amused by everything they see and hear.
Orange flowers will make your character feel very warm all over, like the sun is beating down on them directly.
Blue flowers will make your character somewhat short and impatient with anything that seems like even a minor inconvenience to them.
Effects of the flowers can wear off anywhere between a few minutes to an hour. And for those new to Asgard, this scenario aligns with some of the general curses we might have in the game!
II!
It's the sound of children playing that drew him, without him even thinking about it. Likewise without thinking, he's gripped by the same instinct as Nero when one of the kids trips, sprinting most of the rest across the square and barely skidding to a stop when he sees that Nero's got this.
Watching him help the boy back to his feet makes Sora smile. He raises one hand if the orange flower he was given earlier is still tucked behind his ear-- sure enough, that stayed in place. ] Nice catch!

Looking at Sora fully now, though.... that's... well that's a look he's got there, Nero isn't denying that (this kid has enough belts he has to wonder what all they're for, and why). But what bothers him more is Sora's age, even if he seems to be relatively fine in being here. He isn't surprised that adults were swept into this, but now he's finding kids and teens here too, and Nero's not quite sure he likes the whole idea of that.]
Thanks. [It's almost said as a question, completely unsure of how to handle someone openly complimenting him. It's weird. Not bad, just weird. He crosses his arms and tilts his head towards Sora, curious.] Just how old are you, kid?
[Sorry, Sora. He's dumb and also Just Like This Sometimes.]

Sora hasn't had much experience of getting judged for his outfits, so the look Nero gives him flies right over his head for now. He doesn't flinch at being called "kid" either-- that happens a lot. He really hopes he hits another growth spurt some time... but, oh, right, question. ]
I'm 16! ... at least I don't think I missed my birthday... [ Again, like that time he apparently missed a whole year. He crosses his arms and looks up briefly, thinking. Travelling to different worlds makes calendars weird and unreliable, and things had been, well, pretty hectic. No use thinking about it though, so gestures at Nero instead. ] Why, how old are you?

Then there's the whole honesty deal Sora has going for him- being with Kyrie and helping her run her orphanage, Nero is used to teens pushing back at being called a kid- but here, Sora just rolls with it like it's not a problem at all. In fact, he sort of blinks for a long moment, a little boggled that there's no protest (and even the sidenote of "at least I don't think I missed my birthday") which has him making a face at him.]
24. [A beat.] You can miss a birthday?

The kid thing... well, his age is something Sora's really not insecure about, and he's got enough friends who're kind of gruff, so he's not about to start being bothered by it now. He just tries to commit Nero's age to memory, or more like, mentally puts Nero with other friends of his of similar age.
Shrugs at the question. ] It happens. [ Different worlds and calendars and time flowing faster or slower and-- well. ] Things back home were pretty... [ uh, headscratch, ] intense, before I got here. I haven't really been keeping track.

I know that feeling. [About things being intense, though maybe not quite the same kind as Sora's familiar to.] This is the last place I expected to be, though. Can't say I've ever heard of an Asgard before.
