Anyone can post to the test drive meme, including duplicates! Please put your character name and canon in the title of your comment.
All threads are considered open to everyone! Tag around and make some friends (or enemies)!
If you decide to apply to the game, you can use your TDM threads for your app samples! You only need to provide seven comments if you use TDM samples.
You can't be "late" to a TDM! This will be considered open until the next one goes live next month.
You can make up your own scenario, interact with one of the locations in the game, use the welcome process of your character selecting a god house, or use our optional prompt below!
You do not need to pick a god house to play on the TDM! You can have your character still in the process of discussing/deciding/despairing instead.
If you are accepted to the game, you can keep TDM threads as game canon as long as you fudge some of the details depending on your original thread. If you aren't sure exactly how to do this, you can always ask a mod.

❧ optional scenario.
As you enter Asgard proper, many of the natives have gathered into curious crowds to greet these mysterious children of the World Tree. Some of them carry baskets of flowers and nervously offer one to any Wanderers that come near. They are vibrant and colorful, picked from the wilds surrounding Asgard, and they might have an odd effect on your character if they sniff the flowers directly.

Purple flowers will make your character very giggly and easily amused by everything they see and hear.
Orange flowers will make your character feel very warm all over, like the sun is beating down on them directly.
Blue flowers will make your character somewhat short and impatient with anything that seems like even a minor inconvenience to them.

Effects of the flowers can wear off anywhere between a few minutes to an hour. And for those new to Asgard, this scenario aligns with some of the general curses we might have in the game!

[Majima sighs and looks up at the monolithic buildings around them. He has to squint to see the tops of them.]

I kinda doubt anyone who has to wear cuffs is stayin' here by choice.

[They're looser than that, but the symbolism isn't lost on someone who's spent a few nights in a police station, and a few months in worse.]

Ain't they supposed to be gods?

[He's used to fighting his way out of problems, but that sounds like a tall order.]

[It's out of his mouth before he even thinks about it, but really, that's just how he is. Nero reacts according to how he feels, and right now the whole "we can't get out of here" is feeling more and more like a "well no fucking shit we can't, what else is new" situation. As for the whole thing with Majima saying their bracelets are like handcuffs, the metaphor isn't lost on him, and in some ways he agrees. He hasn't ever been locked up, per se, but he does know the feeling of being trapped well enough.

Though he can't help but offer a bit of a smirk at the mentioning of gods.]

Wouldn't be the first time I've heard that. [Also not the first time he's fought one, technically- but that was with the Devil Bringer and all his powers. Here? Well. That's going to be a lot harder.] Pretty sure it won't be the last.

[He's like Majima, though- always had to fight to prove himself, and to get out of the messes he fell into. This one may not be one he can actually get out of.]

[He's a cocky fucker, whoever he is. Majima's brow furrows as Nero talks, and his eye drifts down to his mechanical arm.]

You got a lot of gods tellin' you what to do back home?

[Some people are acting like this is a regular Tuesday for them-- Majima never thought he'd find a place that made Kamurocho and Sotenbori look boring. He starts walking along the street again; the kid is welcome to join him if he wants, but better not to let natives just eavesdrop.]

[He's spent his life pretty much being like this, though now he's a little more loose and friendly in terms of banter compared to before. It helps when you're no longer in a group that basically functions almost like a cult.]

Not so much gods, but demons and humans wanting to be gods? Yeah. I get it a lot.

[Nero follows Majima's eye for a long second before flicking his wrist on his robotic arm. A brow raises in curiosity and he shrugs.]

It's not gonna bite you, if that's what you're worried about. [A wave of the hand here.] It's just a normal arm thanks to this place.

[Majima heard others complaining about things they could no longer do once they woke up here, but the only difference he noticed was that his knife disappeared. In a normal universe, he would guess they confiscated it while he slept. Now, he's not so sure.]

Robocop ain't real where I'm from.

[He laughs at himself after a moment of thought.]

But most of this shit ain't, either. Guess my universe is more boring than I thought.

[That actually makes Nero snort back a laugh.] Don't ever tell that to Nico, she'd have a whole lot to say about that.

["Robocop." He's not sure if she'd be insulted or offended, or maybe both.] Yeah, can't say a whole new place like this is familiar territory, but it's not the first time I've suddenly been someplace else. Comes with the job.
