Wanderers. ♥ ❧ optional scenario. As you enter Asgard proper, many of the natives have gathered into curious crowds to greet these mysterious children of the World Tree. Some of them carry baskets of flowers and nervously offer one to any Wanderers that come near. They are vibrant and colorful, picked from the wilds surrounding Asgard, and they might have an odd effect on your character if they sniff the flowers directly. Purple flowers will make your character very giggly and easily amused by everything they see and hear. Orange flowers will make your character feel very warm all over, like the sun is beating down on them directly. Blue flowers will make your character somewhat short and impatient with anything that seems like even a minor inconvenience to them. Effects of the flowers can wear off anywhere between a few minutes to an hour. And for those new to Asgard, this scenario aligns with some of the general curses we might have in the game! navigation.

What are they fighting over?

Betrayal. A thousand years old, but betrayal all the same. Which would normally be fairly straight forward as far as reasons go... but the betrayed parties yet live. Dragons who remember it almost like yesterday on one side, and the Ishgardian decedents of the betrayers on the other side, who have no idea, only that they've been under siege their entire lives, for generations. Lied to by their leaders, by the people who are supposed to protect them, so that they can claim the dragons only attack because they're monsters, and keep the poor too scared to question how things are with tales of a great holy war.

[A faint grimace as Khaishan crossed his arms, tail flicking behind him.]

When we discovered the truth of why the war started, we thought perhaps they were ignorant of it. But they weren't, they knew exactly what they were doing. So it's not only working to rip out the corrupt system without the fallout hitting the innocent, it's attempting to broker this peace while there's still one dragon clinging to the idea of simply burning them all, man woman and child alike in vengeance.

[His eyebrows tick up a few times during that explanation, but he's silent until it ends.]

I can't say I blame him, exactly. But that's not going to solve anything. You think he'll ever listen?

Neither can I. Not that I can say I wouldn't be just as angry in his situation. Unfortunately I think he may be too far gone to see reason. He's... he's literally died, only to be brought back by the sheer depths of his rage and hatred. At this point it's practically a madness.

Maybe you can contain him. Just to see if he can ever be reasoned with.

I hope so. It... doesn't feel right, to strike someone down so consumed with grief.

But he cannot be allowed to continue as he has either.
