❧ let's do this.- Anyone can post to the test drive meme, including duplicates! Please put your character name and canon in the title of your comment.
- All threads are considered open to everyone! Tag around and make some friends (or enemies)!
- If you decide to apply to the game, you can use your TDM threads for your app samples! You only need to provide seven comments if you use TDM samples.
- You can't be "late" to a TDM! This will be considered open until the next one goes live next month.
- You can make up your own scenario, interact with one of the locations in the game, use the welcome process of your character selecting a god house, or use our optional prompt below!
- You do not need to pick a god house to play on the TDM! You can have your character still in the process of discussing/deciding/despairing instead.
- If you are accepted to the game, you can keep TDM threads as game canon as long as you fudge some of the details depending on your original thread. If you aren't sure exactly how to do this, you can always ask a mod.
- Reserves open on May 25 at 12:01AM PST and close on May 31 at 11:59PM PST.
- Applications open on June 1 at 12:01AM PST and close on June 7 at 11:59PM PST.
- Please always feel free to contact the mods if you have any questions! Have fun, dear (future?) Wanderers. ♥
❧ optional scenario. As you enter Asgard proper, many of the natives have gathered into curious crowds to greet these mysterious children of the World Tree. Some of them carry baskets of flowers and nervously offer one to any Wanderers that come near. They are vibrant and colorful, picked from the wilds surrounding Asgard, and they might have an odd effect on your character if they sniff the flowers directly.
Purple flowers will make your character very giggly and easily amused by everything they see and hear.
Orange flowers will make your character feel very warm all over, like the sun is beating down on them directly.
Blue flowers will make your character somewhat short and impatient with anything that seems like even a minor inconvenience to them.
Effects of the flowers can wear off anywhere between a few minutes to an hour. And for those new to Asgard, this scenario aligns with some of the general curses we might have in the game!
The templ3
They set off so many alarm bells in Peter's head that he was getting whiplash inside his own brain.
His fath...Ego. Not his dad, Ego, had been nice too right until the moment Peter refused to agree to his plans of devouring the galaxy. And then he showed his true colors, it was nasty, someone close to Peter had died. Celestials and Asgardian might not be the same kind of people but they were all still Gods and so far the ones Peter had met in his lifetime were immense jackasses.
And so he tried to avoid them, busy looking for ways to contact his team, to get out of the city, to find a place to think. He ends in Flakkaheim by pure luck, good or bad who knew, drawn there by the vegetation and quiet atmosphere. Peter doesn't realize for far into the area he had walked until he ends face to face with a man having a cup of tea. His usual good-natured tempered wins over the wariness and Peter offer a small smile. ]
Bit of both. I was looking for a way out and ended losing my way instead. Life does that often.

It makes for a pleasant surprise to see him wander into his clearing after all. And his answer is even moreso! ]
That's what I've been saying! But every time I get lost, Odin says to "pay more attention" and "keep your eyes in front of you." Sometimes life has other plans.
[ Two thousand year old excuses, maybe? Pssh. Honir waves Peter closer with a warm smile. ]
Which "out" were you looking for? There's quite a few to choose from.

In my experience, life enjoys being contrary to our wishes. [ Peter takes a couple of steps closer, a smile on his face but with a lingering tension in the way he carries himself, cautious. ] Sorry, I didn't mean to disturb you, man. I was talking about leaving this city, find a way back to my own world. I have some serious unfinished business there.
no subject
Well, you can certainly leave the city, although I would be very careful about that. The rest of the Mother's children aren't always so friendly.
[ Read as: they are awful keen on murdering each other. :( Honir sighs just a little. ]
And as for getting back to your world, I'm afraid you won't find it out there. We're not even sure it's possible right now, but I promise that we're looking for a way!

Ah. I admit I don't know all that much about Norse mythology and the creatures that populate it. Although I suppose that for you is just your history, not myths.
[ He tries to sound respectful, or as much as he can manage after hearing the frustrating news. No way out, oh 8[. Something that is kind of expected but won't stop him from trying. It can wait a few minutes too, he's been traveling the city all day and it's been tiresome. ]
You promise... [ Peter looks at Honir, then back at his wrist. The silver bracelets he's wearing still have colorless jewels and it's getting late to make a decision. He still doesn't want to but oddly enough, he's inclined to believe the other man. ] Mind if I take a seat?

[ Honir sits up in his seat with a burst of energy for forgetting his manners! He makes one vague gesture with both of his hands and the empty seat at the table pulls itself out for Peter, a teacup hops into position, and the kettle huffs with a new burst of warm steam before lifting into the air and filling the cup. Honir watches it all happen with a childlike delight in his eyes, then cocks his head to the side and snaps his fingers after making a decision.
A platter of small cookies appears! That's what was missing, better. Honir contemplates his set up one second longer, picks up a cookie to bite into, then nods his head. Good, it doesn't taste like napkins. ]
Okay! There you go. Help yourself, and although I don't really know what a Norse is, I will try to answer any questions you might have!

Show off. [ He says good-naturedly, watching the god transmutate objects. Peter feels a little bit like Alice in Wonderland at this moment, that with the unexpected tea party. ] That's really cool, though, and very useful. All Gods here can do it?
[ Eyebrows going up at the sudden cookies, man that really is a trick he will like to know how to do, he chuckles at Honir's enthusiasm. ]
Thanks, I haven't eaten anything all day. [ Don't worry about the Norse thing, though. Instead of reaching out to grab a cookie, or half a dozen, Peter offers his hand. There's an honest, cheerful smile playing on his lips. ] I'm Peter Quill, nice to meet you. My first question is just your name.
no subject
We can, and much more than this too! My siblings even made this sky you see above us, you know.
[ Secondhand bragging? Yeah. Honir thinks his family is the coolest. But his boundless enthusiasm and obliviousness trips over into a delighted gasp of surprise when Peter offers his hand. His very first handshake! Not that he knows what he's supposed to do with it; instead, he puts both of his hands around Peter's gently and looks up to him with actual stars in his eyes. ]
My name is Honir! It's so very nice to meet you too, Peter Quill!
[ Did he do it right? Is this how you make friends? ]

His head immediately snaps up. Being a planet the size of the moon, like Ego was, is one thing. To create the whole sky with the countless planets and stars is a whole new level.]
Wow... [ So yeah, he's impressed. That reaction turns into amusement when Honir doesn't so much shake his hand as holds it on his owns. Peter smiles back at him and moves his arm up and down to give the God a hint. ] Likewise. You can call me just Peter if you want, or Star-Lord.
no subject
Ooh, Star Lord! I like that. Which star are you lord of?
[ Not that being a "lord" of anything truly makes sense to him, Honir is just delighted by the idea. ]
If we're sharing titles, I suppose mine is "God of Travel and Whimsy." But you can just call me Honir.
no subject
And talking about holding things, Peter's wondering how long is a too long handshake but Honir hasn't let him go and it would be rude to pull his hand away. So guess they're holding hands now. The god makes it really hard not to like him, anyway, and Peter finds himself laughing for the first time since he got there. ]
Oh no, it's not...I don't really own anything. Certainly not a star. Only the ship I use to travel, the Benatar, and sadly it's not here. [ He wishes, maybe that way he could leave and go find the others. ] Oh, those are very good titles. Pleasure to meet you.
