Anyone can post to the test drive meme, including duplicates! Please put your character name and canon in the title of your comment.
All threads are considered open to everyone! Tag around and make some friends (or enemies)!
If you decide to apply to the game, you can use your TDM threads for your app samples! You only need to provide seven comments if you use TDM samples.
You can't be "late" to a TDM! This will be considered open until the next one goes live next month.
You can make up your own scenario, interact with one of the locations in the game, use the welcome process of your character selecting a god house, or use our optional prompt below!
You do not need to pick a god house to play on the TDM! You can have your character still in the process of discussing/deciding/despairing instead.
If you are accepted to the game, you can keep TDM threads as game canon as long as you fudge some of the details depending on your original thread. If you aren't sure exactly how to do this, you can always ask a mod.

❧ optional scenario.
As you enter Asgard proper, many of the natives have gathered into curious crowds to greet these mysterious children of the World Tree. Some of them carry baskets of flowers and nervously offer one to any Wanderers that come near. They are vibrant and colorful, picked from the wilds surrounding Asgard, and they might have an odd effect on your character if they sniff the flowers directly.

Purple flowers will make your character very giggly and easily amused by everything they see and hear.
Orange flowers will make your character feel very warm all over, like the sun is beating down on them directly.
Blue flowers will make your character somewhat short and impatient with anything that seems like even a minor inconvenience to them.

Effects of the flowers can wear off anywhere between a few minutes to an hour. And for those new to Asgard, this scenario aligns with some of the general curses we might have in the game!

Wow! I've seen a lot of things with wings, but none that gave some to other people!

[ They don't sound half bad after all! What a strange world this one is from. Honir looks positively delighted. ]

Does that mean you have magic at home? Or at least your bulls do?

[That gets a snort, something of amusement showing on Nero's face. He shrugs.]

It's what I've heard. I'm sure someone else is more familiar with them than me, though. [A pause, and he kind shakes his head? He's not sure what to call it.]

I don't think so. We've got demons and Hell, for sure, but I haven't really come across anything that anyone would really call "magic."

Demons and Hell? What are those like?

[ Asked with the exact same amount of blind curiosity, even the slightest tilt of the head. Honir could very easily just - look inside of Nero, find out for himself. But instead he asks and waits. It's more fun this way! ]

[Ooof, now that's a tricky question. Well, it's not an easy one, that's for sure. That takes a long second before Nero tilts his head just a little in return, almost in an "are you serious" sort of gesture. Then, he exhales.]

Bad news, mostly. [This part he's being honest about.] Demons cause a lot of problems back home for a lot of people, and tend to have a habit of trying to take over the human world. Hell is where they all come from.

[Doesn't that sound like a damper? Nero shrugs.] But hey, the red bulls are usually around, but I'm pretty sure they don't come from Hell itself. It's something that's unique to the human realm.

[STOP TROLLING THE PRECIOUS CINNAMON BUN HONIR, JACKASS.]

[ Oh. Honir's smile drops off a little and he nods his head as Nero speaks. Yeah, that tracks, more or less. ]

It's all very unique to your realm, actually, the red bulls and the demons. There are probably loads of worlds with similar things but nothing is exactly quite like yours.

[ Because you are very special and Honir is sad you have mean things in your world but he is sadder that they absolutely started here. ]

[He recognizes that look, and what it means. Nero's seen it too often in the last few months for his liking, and he huffs out a bit before responding.]

Yeah, well. I'm not about to go looking for them, there's enough stuff already back at home. [A pause, and he blinks, and then-.]

What did you say your name was?

[NERO, YOU NEVER ASKED HIM FOR HIS NAME, WHAT THE FUCK.]

[ It's okay, Nero, it didn't even occur to him either. ]

Oh no, I didn't say it! I'm Honir, thank you for telling me about your world! What's your name?

[Two morons in a pod, A++ would fall right on their faces if not for their significant others.]

Honir. [Repeating it, because that's just as weird as fucking "Urizen" for a name. Thank god this guy is nowhere near anything like Urizen was.] Yeah, uh, sure. I'm Nero.

[If he's expecting a handshake or anything he's gonna be sad because that's not really a thing Nero does. Having a weird-ass right arm makes things awkward, okay. Still, it takes a second or two, but he stops mid-thought to relay something that immediately needs to be said to this god.]

Hey, just a thought. How well do you remember people here?

[Nero, where are you going with this...........]

[ 100% correct. And Honir wouldn't even know to expect a handshake, still thinks it's just something a few mortals do for some odd reason. ]

Hmm, well. I'm not exactly the best with names - [ because he is a ditz I mean look at him ] - but I'll probably remember your face until the end of the multiverse!

[ He seems quite proud of this fact, Nero! ]

Right. [A pause. Honir, please.

...............he's gonna get into so much shit for this but he has to do it.]

Just saying, if you run into a guy named Dante, or Vergil? They'd know better about the red bulls compared to me.
