Anyone can post to the test drive meme, including duplicates! Please put your character name and canon in the title of your comment.
All threads are considered open to everyone! Tag around and make some friends (or enemies)!
If you decide to apply to the game, you can use your TDM threads for your app samples! You only need to provide seven comments if you use TDM samples.
You can't be "late" to a TDM! This will be considered open until the next one goes live next month.
You can make up your own scenario, interact with one of the locations in the game, use the welcome process of your character selecting a god house, or use our optional prompt below!
You do not need to pick a god house to play on the TDM! You can have your character still in the process of discussing/deciding/despairing instead.
If you are accepted to the game, you can keep TDM threads as game canon as long as you fudge some of the details depending on your original thread. If you aren't sure exactly how to do this, you can always ask a mod.

❧ optional scenario.
As you enter Asgard proper, many of the natives have gathered into curious crowds to greet these mysterious children of the World Tree. Some of them carry baskets of flowers and nervously offer one to any Wanderers that come near. They are vibrant and colorful, picked from the wilds surrounding Asgard, and they might have an odd effect on your character if they sniff the flowers directly.

Purple flowers will make your character very giggly and easily amused by everything they see and hear.
Orange flowers will make your character feel very warm all over, like the sun is beating down on them directly.
Blue flowers will make your character somewhat short and impatient with anything that seems like even a minor inconvenience to them.

Effects of the flowers can wear off anywhere between a few minutes to an hour. And for those new to Asgard, this scenario aligns with some of the general curses we might have in the game!

So then are there loads of this place?

[ He will take that gentle "ooh!" as a victory! But her question dazzles him a little. ]

I didn't even think about that! There must be other Asgards, and I'm sure there are other Yggdrasils, but there definitely isn't anything quite like ours. Our world came before all the others, you see.

[ But now he is so so curious about what the other Yggdrasils must look like! ]

Oh, well, will you please tell me about this Asgard? I've never been to it before, you see.

Oh, yes!

[ Honir will actually just summon a blanket for them and sit right there on the ground, offering her both a space to sit and a happy smile. ]

What would you like to know? Ask me anything you like and I will try to answer it if I can!

[Alice moves to sit next to Honir without a moment of hesitation.]

Well, what sort of things are there to do here? Am I expected to go to school? Is there even a school? What sort of magical creatures do you have? You do have magical creatures, don't you?

[ He almost gets lost in the rush of words for a moment before deciding it's really only two questions, he can answer those! ]

Well, technically we're all magic creatures! Everyone and everything here is made of magic.

[ As well as everything outside of here, but that's not what she asked and he's not trying to confuse her again. ]

Do you want to go to school? We have one! Odin made it and it's very pretty.

[ The important thing to have in a school, obv. ]

Well, then do you have any magical creatures like fairies or dragons or unicorns or things of that sort?

[She tilted her head. Did she want to go to school? Well, she didn't want to be a fool, and you went to school to learn.]

I won't be the only one there, will I? Is Mr. Odin the headmaster?

Oh, yes! Well, we definitely have dragons, I'm not too sure about the rest. They might have existed at one point, and they might still somewhere. It's hard to really know with the Mother!

[ He seems well pleased by this fact, honestly. His Mother is such a whimsical one Herself! ]

I don't know what a headmaster is but Odin does teach there! And lots of the humans are students already, you'll have plenty of friends to study with.

YOU HAVE DRAGONS! [Alice was quick to lean forward, her hands resting on Honir's knees.] Could I meet them?

And a headmaster is the person in charge of the school, the one who is in charge of everything!

[ He deflates with a sad little smile. ]

Unfortunately not, little one. They're not very friendly.

[ In a tried-to-destroy-the-world kind of way. ]

Oh! Well then, yes! I suppose that makes Odin headmaster and king!

[ And Allfather too? Look at all these titles, big bro is the coolest! ]

Oh... [She wondered if they were just lonely or hungry.]

I've never spoken to a proper king before. Only the Red and White King, and I had to defeat the Red King. Should I ask for his permission to go to his school?

Oh, he might like that, he's quite fond of being asked for permission.

[ Incorrect: he's quite fond of being told when his family is doing something stupid, but I digress. :| ]

What makes a "proper" king and why didn't the Red and White Kings have it?
