Anyone can post to the test drive meme, including duplicates! Please put your character name and canon in the title of your comment.
All threads are considered open to everyone! Tag around and make some friends (or enemies)!
If you decide to apply to the game, you can use your TDM threads for your app samples! You only need to provide seven comments if you use TDM samples.
You can't be "late" to a TDM! This will be considered open until the next one goes live next month.
You can make up your own scenario, interact with one of the locations in the game, use the welcome process of your character selecting a god house, or use our optional prompt below!
You do not need to pick a god house to play on the TDM! You can have your character still in the process of discussing/deciding/despairing instead.
If you are accepted to the game, you can keep TDM threads as game canon as long as you fudge some of the details depending on your original thread. If you aren't sure exactly how to do this, you can always ask a mod.

❧ optional scenario.
As you enter Asgard proper, many of the natives have gathered into curious crowds to greet these mysterious children of the World Tree. Some of them carry baskets of flowers and nervously offer one to any Wanderers that come near. They are vibrant and colorful, picked from the wilds surrounding Asgard, and they might have an odd effect on your character if they sniff the flowers directly.

Purple flowers will make your character very giggly and easily amused by everything they see and hear.
Orange flowers will make your character feel very warm all over, like the sun is beating down on them directly.
Blue flowers will make your character somewhat short and impatient with anything that seems like even a minor inconvenience to them.

Effects of the flowers can wear off anywhere between a few minutes to an hour. And for those new to Asgard, this scenario aligns with some of the general curses we might have in the game!

1. mother of dragons? welcome to frigg's crib
[ To expect the unexpected was a strategy harder to live out than prepare for. Daenerys Targaryen was left with a difficult choice, one she bitterly takes as her own dragon children had been taken away from her. Frigg, the name falls so bitterly to her tongue. Whatever agreement is made, her anger still remains pitted in her stomach as time passes. As if this bond was some kind of cruel choice she was forced to make.

At first, she keeps herself secluded in her 'residence', musing on the possibilities of finding her children but without her allies — how could she? The city knows not of her name and status as Queen of Meereen... so she blends in. Moving among the different districts now in a poor attempt to learn more.

Gods, she felt like Jorah now.

She settles in the NJORD DISTRICT, the dim-lit restaurant all the more attractive to rest her troubles for a moment. To watch as people pass by — that is, until a plate and glass is set in front of her. ]

Oh, no — I didn't request anything.

[ Dany insists, shaking her head. The barmaiden insists one of the gentlemen in the room sent it over for free and that, makes her eyes narrow as she sees a man making kissy-faces across the way. ]

Send it back or it will be wasted on the floor.

2. walk in the park
[ It feels odd exploring without her guards, without the Unsullied sworn to protect her. She moves freely, in awe of all the green spanning through the park. It was not like Essos and part of her wonders... was there a lemon tree here? Something so simple, but she had to wonder — to keep her mind at ease.

In her walk, she finds herself stopping in front of a large mural of graffiti. The shapes and lines look so foreign, so crude and she has to mutter out loud — ]

What language is this..?

[ It's just bubble letters, chill. It seems there's another person admiring the art and soon, her voice speaks up. ]

Excuse me, are these common around this city?

[ Dany is from mid season 7! Please feel free to throw me some prompts in the other districts — right now, poor girl is wandering around without her advisors missing her dumb dragon kids. :/ PM me if you have questions! Be gentle, voice testing in a game setting! ]

[The person she stopped happened to be was one little seven year old by the name of Alice. Alice looked up, taken by how pretty the woman was and then smiled brightly.]

Isn't it interesting, miss? They're bubbles but they spell a word! I've never seen such a thing before either!

[ Children were a soft spot for the woman, so she was not caught off guard by the sudden excitement filling the air. ]

That... seems absolutely odd, but — [ Who was she to judge art? ] It is eye-catching. Beautiful, even.

It most certainly makes you stop to look at it! I haven't figured out what it's saying, however.

Perhaps if you stand back a bit further! [Alice held out her hand to Dany, gesturing behind them a few steps.]

[ Finally, with a bit of food in his belly, Jamie sits and does much as others around him are, he's sure by taking in the view. At first, he pays no mind to the young woman with the striking hair; he notes her, and that's it. He hears the first refusal of the food in front of her and ignores it, but it's the insistence in her voice that has Jamie looking up.

Glancing from her to the man across the way, Jamie sizes him up and realizes he's quite a bit bigger than the other patron. He waits, bides his time, and at the rude gestures, that's about all he can take. He doesn't know this woman from Eve, but he does know what respect is.

Slowly standing to his full six foot three height, Jamie wipes his mouth with a napkin and makes his way over to the man, looming over him. ]

I dinna ken if ye hear well or no', but the lass said no.

[ He stares the man down until he actually gets up to leave, watching to be sure he doesn't do anything untoward as he has to walk by the young woman to leave the dining area. And that's that; Jamie nods toward her, face softening a bit before simply going back to his seat, two tables away. ]

[ Daenerys did not have the threats of dragon fire and her army to insist the man back down. In the sad reality, she was just a young girl saying "no" — some people did not take that seriously.

Jamie's intervention was quite the scene. How could she not sit up straighter to watch how it unfolds. The waitress was ready to grab the food finally, but Daenerys waves her off. Instead, once Jamie takes his seat again with that reassuring nod, she snatches the plate up and steps to his table.

The plate it set down in front of him and the mother of dragons merely offers an appreciative smile. ]

Thank you for your intervention. I doubt it would have escalated, but it is nice to know manners aren't foreign in this realm. Please, take this as a small token of appreciation.

[ He may be stuffed but.... here's more food! ]

[ Jamie eats like he's still a growing lad; years of imprisonment have him still lean and he'll not turn down more food. But he still has manners and stands, half-bowing at her kindness.

He really is just...this way. ]

[ He's seen the things that can happen to young women; has seen those things happen to his own sister and wife, and so it's a protective streak in him that he can't seem to curb. Speaking with her now, he's relaxed, easy to smile. ]

[ there is apparently a great deal of this place that can be explored and Tony, while not drowning himself in reading whatever he can get his hands on (or trying to read at least), was trying to get a feeling for this place. the engineer was finding it more than a little difficult to put together what he knew about Asgard (the city that he helped rebuild in his universe) and-- well, this Asgard.

much like a library, looking at the spaces where people spent their free time was a place where you could find out a great deal.

who knew the gods were into graffiti?

Tony is currently looking at a swath of said art when someone comes up beside him. he gives her a sidelong look and assumes she more or less belongs here. looks it. when she speaks though, he realizes that he is clearly wrong.]

Pretty sure a weird stylistic version of Norse considering Asgard and all, but can't say I am very good at reading it myself.

[ he turns a little, eyebrow twitching upwards.]

Haven't seen any other murals. Yet. Certainly seems like it would throw off the Fung Shui of the place if there were.

If she doesn't want it, I'll eat it!
