You can make up your own scenario, interact with one of the locations in the game, use the welcome process of your character selecting a god house, or use our optional prompt below! You do not need to pick a god house to play on the TDM! You can have your character still in the process of discussing/deciding/despairing instead. Wanderers. ♥ ❧ optional scenario. As you enter Asgard proper, many of the natives have gathered into curious crowds to greet these mysterious children of the World Tree. Some of them carry baskets of flowers and nervously offer one to any Wanderers that come near. They are vibrant and colorful, picked from the wilds surrounding Asgard, and they might have an odd effect on your character if they sniff the flowers directly. Purple flowers will make your character very giggly and easily amused by everything they see and hear. Orange flowers will make your character feel very warm all over, like the sun is beating down on them directly. Blue flowers will make your character somewhat short and impatient with anything that seems like even a minor inconvenience to them. Effects of the flowers can wear off anywhere between a few minutes to an hour. And for those new to Asgard, this scenario aligns with some of the general curses we might have in the game! navigation.

[ Considering that she was chosen for Heimdall's house, it only makes sense that Kyoko would be here. While Theon practices with a bow and arrow, she practices with a spear, dodging around in a way that suggests expertise. But eventually, she needs to take a break.

All of this was...odd. Suddenly being a normal human again was simultaneously exciting and terrifying at the same time. She was herself again. Back to how it was. Except for the fact that she had to relearn everything. Normal, boring human Kyoko moved a lot slower than magical girl Kyoko...which outright sucked.

It's during this break that she spots Theon practicing. She's not going to interrupt the guy while he's firing off arrows, so she only approaches when he takes a break of some kind. ]

Hey, [ the teenage girl asks, as she looks up at Theon with a little frown. ] Are arrows all you can do or can you fight hand to hand as well?

[ Theon has no interest in spears. He knows the weapons that were taught to him by the master at arms at Pyke: knives, swords, bows. It just so happened that he was best with a bow. An arrow is silent, doesn’t dull the way steel does, and a man’s only fear is a poor aim and an empty quiver. Theon has never had to worry about a poor aim.

He rolls his eyes, takes his time pulling back to string and letting loose one last arrow, before turning to Kyoko with a cocky smile. ]

Swords and axes as well.

[ Though not as well as the Stark boys, and not as well as Asha. They could never best me with a bow in their hands, though, he thinks. He always has some reason or another to be envious. ]

Though not against you.

[ Not against a woman, that is. ]

[ This guy outright stating that he doesn't want to fight her visibly rankles Kyoko. She frowns, gripping the spear a little tighter, before shifting to a slightly cocky smile. ]

Sounds like someone's scared. What's the matter? Afraid you'll lose?

[ Taunting aside, Kyoko's going to put action behind her words. She sweeps her spear, attempting to knock Theon in the legs with the wooden shaft. As she moves, it's obvious that Kyoko has some idea about what she's doing: she's handling the spear like someone used to this weapon. ]

Afraid I’ll hurt you. You’re a woman.

[ He states it like his medieval mindset should be obvious to and shared by everybody. In truth, women fighters are nothing new to him. His sister is better with a battleaxe than he is, and more respected as well. That very fact still sparks his anger. It’s his pride that keeps him away from the invitation. If he were to be bested by a woman, what would people think? He would be humiliated yet again.

Theon isn’t particularly tall or particularly sturdy, but he’s quick enough. He dodges her attack with a bark of laughter, though he nearly stumbles in the process. ]

And no matter how much you may beg, I don’t spar with spears.

What a baby,

[ Kyoko taunts, rolling her eyes. That really pisses her off. Because she's a woman? She's probably a better fighter than half the people here. She's spent so much time training, trying to make herself stronger and better to fight witches, of course she could take out this stupid guy. ]

Swords ain't my specialty. But get me one and I'm sure I'll beat you.

[ And then she attempts to just knock Theon in the legs with her spear one more time. ]

[ And now he knows who he’s reminded of: Lord Stark’s youngest daughter, Arya. She had an unladylike mouth on her and insisted she could be just as capable with a weapon as any of her brothers. Theon always assumed she’d grow out of it eventually.

This time, though, he’s knocked off his feet. Humiliated, just as he has been so many times before. Theon is too prideful to let that go. He clenches his teeth angrily and reaches for a sword as he picks himself up. He may as well give her exactly what she wants, then. ]

Time for you to learn, then, if you’re so keen.

[ Hell yeah, it's time to fight. Kyoko props her spear against the wall and reaches for a sword of her own. There's a cocky grin on her face that is 75% bluster. While Kyoko knows how to stay on her feet and how to fight, most of her weapons training is with a spear. There's a high chance she's going to lose this fight.

However, shithead teenager doesn't care and wants to fight. Grabbing the sword, she takes a fighting stance. ]

Let's get this started!

[ And then straight up lunges towards Theon. ]

[ Theon was always the one Ser Rodrik had to get after when it came to swordsmanship training. Never half as good as the Stark boys, but adequate—isn’t that all he ever is? When he was especially frustrated, he played dirty and brought brute force into the mix. That’s fine and well between boys, but this is a girl.

He’s stubborn enough, though. No one is around to see if I have to knock her down.

He’s quicker this time. He sidesteps her attack and tries to use his own blade to knock hers out of her hands, smirkng all the while like he hasn't a care in the world. It's a ruse. He has a too many cares in the world. ]
