better than sleekeazy's do u want some hermy
He doesn't know what to expect when she begins rolling up her shirtsleeve. But it isn't-- that. It's cursed in her skin, it's got to be--a deliberate, sadistic carving.
But it's not half as ugly as the word itself, and he stares for only a second before he jerks his eyes up to her face. And there's horror in him now, he's not questioning her any longer--this girl who knows James, and Harry--Remus and Lily--who says she's from the future, who wears those scars--]
Who did that to you?
[He asks it quietly, tightly. He couldn't say why he's angry for her, this girl he doesn't know. But he is. Because it doesn't even matter that she knows James, all that matters is that word. No one deserves to be called it. No one deserves it branded on them. And he knows the sort of people that do that brutal, nasty work. He's related to half of them, isn't he, and his fingers tighten into fists again as he thinks that.]
yes pls i'd be most grateful uncle siri
Dropping her arm, Hermione rolls her sleeve down again and gathers up her jacket, pulling it on and redoing the buttons. It's too cold to be wandering around with her sleeves bared even if she did want to show off her scars, which she didn't. It was too private, too painful - and there would be far too many questions asked of her if she dared. ]
Bellatrix Lestrange -- or, I suppose, Bellatrix Black. I'm not sure when she got married, honestly.
[ Smoothing down her clothes, she breathes out and steps forward, eyes soft. She knows how he must be feeling, she's seen it in Harry enough times to recognise the signs, and she reaches out to put a hand over his. ]
Do you believe me, Sirius?
merry christmas ps i love your hermione c:
He's jerked out of this reverie when Hermione steps in closer--doesn't notice her until she's just there, with her hand on his, and he starts, looking up to her face again. Nearly flinches away from that touch, honestly, before he thinks better of it--because she's not a threat. She's not with them, not with that word carved on her arm. Bellatrix. Merlin, but he hates her, and that thought is still twisting in him even as he nods, once, short, at Hermione.]
Yeah. I guess I believe you. Haven't got much of a choice otherwise, have I.
[It's sort of a joke. And then there's a beat, and he smiles, grimly.]
So how's the future, Miss Granger?
[Not like he can't guess. Not after seeing her arm. It's got to be a little bad. There's no way it could be good, with shit like that happening.]
thank you and thank you!! o/////o
Instead, she just shakes her head at him, fond and obviously familiar. She missed Sirius, missed him more than she could express, perhaps not as much as Harry had but enough. She had loved him in her own way and seeing what had happened to him was too much to think about right now. She couldn't, not when he was right here in front of her, alive and breathing and joking. ]
The future is good, Sirius - and, really, you can call me Hermione if you'd like to. I don't mind.
[ Her set shoulders relax and she breathes out. ]
Voldemort is dead, the Death Eaters are being imprisoned and the world is... Well, it's safe from him. We fought a hard war, that's true, but... It was worth it, in the end. We survived.
