Wow, I walked right into that...
[Still, she crouched down and got ready for the next round.]
no subject
Yep. You new here?
[It was sort of obvious. Most of the ones who'd been here a while were in heavier coats.]
no subject
... Yeah. Sure is some welcome here.
[Not said without humor, though. In a way, it was nice to see children having fun - and not just children either.]

[She caught the look, but the girl wasn't freaking out, so she wouldn't bring it up just yet. she packed and threw on the fly, snickering a little as her hood pulled back, horns very visible.]
no subject
Dr- !
[Oh crap, snowball. This time, she managed to dodge in time. She'd left hers lying there as she got out the way, but gathered up a handful and threw that, anyway, not sure it'd make it very far.]
...dragon? Are you serious?
no subject
Tell you what. Truce before you get soaked, since you're not dressed for this. Tea, and I'll tell you about the time I helped throw a dragon at a giant.
[She's actually not bullshitting her here, though Conan did all the heavy lifting. Ironic, considering his size.]
no subject
...Deal. I don't want the first thing I do here to be catching a cold.

[Tris followed, noting the way they were taking, and the way the buildings were a different color here. She saw no signs she was not supposed to be here, which was kind of what she expected. Or a marked difference between the people in the different districts - but no. Children playing in the snow. People going on about their day. It would be a long one for her, she could tell, if she didn't wake up anytime soon. "A Pinch of Sage" wasn't a name she could make much sense of, but she didn't give it much thought, simply followed and observed, still ready to bolt at the first sign of trouble that was more serious than snowballs.]

She led the way up the steps and opened up. The smells within assailed Tris with the odor of sage, thyme, garlic and other pungent herbs. It was a small shop, just a counter and a single table with a pair of chairs. On the other side of the counter, herbs hung in bushels down, potions, medicines and drugs of all varieties were lining the shelves. Several of them wouldn't have been legal in a lot of worlds.
A chalkboard was on one side, listing prices of potions and quite openly 'Poisons' on it. However, it was definitely warm.]
Make yourself comfortable. I'll fix cocoa.
no subject
Frankly, she was having a hard time to decide what to stare at first.
Never mind she didn't even know what cocoa is.]
Okay.
[She figured it wasn't one of the poisons. Besides, it wasn't as if she absolutely had to drink it. Push came to shove, she'd just stay here until her hands stopped stinging and then leave, but for now she sat down.]
This place is yours?
no subject
Yeah. I sell herbal cures, medicines and potions mostly. That sort of thing.
no subject
And poisons.
[Apparently. No question or even wariness about it.]
no subject
[Nope, not even batting an eyelash. she didn't think too much about talking about them anymore.]
no subject
Do people poison each other a lot around here?
