OPTIONAL SCENARIO: After your character receives his or her bracelet and the run-down from the faceless maids in the castle, they walk out to find the city blanketed with snow and in the middle of what seems to be a snowball war organized by the Native children! Be careful on your way to your Welcome House: snowballs are flying, and these groups of giggling kids don't seem to care who gets caught in the crossfire. Make sure to have fun, and as always, feel free to hit the mods or players up with any questions you might have! ♥

[ A boy with gray skin, pointed ears, and a set of horns stumbles to the side almost too dramatically for what little force she runs into him, as he walks in front of her-- the cold, wet ground certainly doesn't help. He nearly loses it, but manages to keep his balance, and turns to cuss her out.

He stops when he gets a look at her. A human girl. Instead he just kind of scowls a little; when he speaks, it's with a heavy frontal lisp. ]

Yeah whatever. Try using your eyes, it might help.

Uh...Yeah! Snowman. That's exactly what this is.

[Crap. Seen. That means a change of strategy is in order. He rolls the ball in the snow, playing up the snowman angle as he edges closer to the target. The snowball slowly grows as he looms closer, waiting for optimal range.]

Just need it...a little...bit...bigger.

I can't stay in your hall for too long--I've heard talk of discomfort when someone stays in a Welcome Hall that isn't their own for too long.

[He hadn't really MEANT to hit her, since he was aiming at one of the kids who pelted him in the face earlier. As soon as she turned, he stood up straight, hiding the other snowball behind his back.]

Uh...Hey! You should have seen that kid bolt by here! It was horrific, total drive-by attack. I swear, someone should discipline all these damned kids.

[He hadn't really been paying attention to where he was walking, distracted by the snow-- it hasn't snowed yet, not since he's been here, and the white dusting of it just makes things look a little different.

When he realizes he'd gotten a little too near someone else, and glances over to catch that wide-eyed look, his own initial look of surprise softens; it's only since he's been here that he's gotten less skittish himself, he recognizes that kind of reaction well enough. So he offers her a small, apologetic smile, stepping back quickly out of her space.]

--sorry about that, guess I wasn't really keeping enough of an eye on the street. Are you new?

Her fingers drum uneasily on the cup. 'For now'.]

Yeah.

[She smiles but it doesn't reach her eyes.]

Sorry, I guess it really is obvious. I was just wondering. [The smile fades, gradually.]

[She wasn't buying it. Raising a brow, she stood there for a moment, and as he spoke, she began to bend calmly, gathering some snow in her hand. She sculpted deliberately, aiming to get revenge in the same style.]

Kids, huh? Awful little beasts, aren't they? Clearly, someone should reprimand them for their mistake, yeah?

[This was so embarrassing for him. He was still ashamed of his useless legs, which made him completely useless. It was something that he hated, and he didn't want everyone else to know about his shame.]

[He tugs his vest a little, still scowling. --and promptly tries to ignore her. Where the hell is he, anyway? Vaguely he peers around the shop, hoping it's something normal.]

[Davesprite is supposed to be working. Instead, he's camping out in the tree Nill has hidden behind, taking temporary refuge from the sudden onslaught of snowy doom. He hasn't paid much attention to the kids, besides idly tracking if they've noticed him in the lower branches, so it's only the crunch of snow that alerts him to Nill's presence.

He's seen his fair share of people around Asgard and the network with dog or cat ears (or otherwise bizarre anatomy), but this is the first time he's seen someone else with feathers.]

Hey. [He looks down at her, black wings mantled in curiosity. He glances towards the kids and a flicker of amusement crosses his face.] Did they get you?

[Gene used his empty hand to rub the back of his head sheepishly, giving a nervous little laugh.]

W-well, you know how they can be. Precocious little scamps, am I right?

People have left here and been sent home. Whether it's accidental or forced, it means there is a way.

Yeah, well, s'kinda obvious enough that you need it.

[He knows how it feels, to feel useless and ashamed of it, and so he doesn't try to haul the kid up, not yet. But he will sit next to him, because the kid's an easy target for bullies, and some things Bucky just can't shake off. The instinct to protect, to keep this kid safe--that's one of them.]

[The smile she gave him could be considered sweet, if she didn't have vengeance written in her eyes. A glint. She then reared her arm back, sending the well packed snowball speeding in his direction.]

[Bucky's a sniper--most of the time, his aim is true. And for the most part, that holds up even in snowball fights, except this time the kid he's aiming at has managed to dodge and now his snowball's careening towards some poor dame.

I didn't believe it either. If there's a way in, there should be a way out.

[He lets out a breath, then:] There's something else. Arya and Jon were here before, though Jon left before I arrived, and before Arya left as well she told me she and Jon had lived outside their halls somewhere. Mayhaps we could.

[He'd just need to scrape together his savings and start renting, and in the meantime look for a job.]

[Gene took that one right in the kisser. He stood his ground against it, figuring fair was fair. He just kind of nodded to himself as the snow fell from his face.]

Ah... [ looking up, it's like he'd just realized that it did look cold out. looking down at his hand as ritsuka takes it, he's very easily led away ]

Yeah, okay, we can go. [ like it was going to be any different ]

[He won't idly sit in this place and wait to be allowed home again, not going to happen.]
