MONTHLY TEST-DRIVE!

THE TEST DRIVE MEME
• Got a character you're thinking of reserving/apping this round? PUT THEM HERE! • Threads here can count as your third person sample! • Comment with your character's name and canon! • This is open to everyone! Also, test drivers can tag other test drivers. :) • Make up your own scenario or have them walk into all the doors or leave it blank for others to do it for you! • OPTIONAL SCENARIO: After your character receives his or her bracelet and the run-down from the faceless maids in the castle, they may realize that Asgard is, for the moment, completely overrun with furry animals! The city's natives are busy trying to herd cats and dogs out of the streets, the park is thronged with friendly and curious rabbits, and a small army of capybaras seems to have started a parade around the castle. Something is going on -- the natives seem exasperated as anything. Help them out? Adopt a ferret? Try to wade through goats to make it to your welcome house? At least they're non-aggressive.. for now! Make sure to have fun, and as always, feel free to hit the mods or players up with any questions you might have! ♥ |

[...except maybe cockroaches. She's still not quite sure about those.]
[At any rate, it's about this time that a jerk of the goat's head, just a little too sharply, sends her tumbling. Ordinarily she would've just fallen into the grass, no harm done, but this time there's someone in the way. So instead she ends up pitching face-first at Norrington--sorry old boy.]
Oh--oh dear!
no subject
Oof!
[ The offending sheep moves on, while another takes a hopeful nibble at his hat, which has rolled into a sunny clump of goldenrod. On his end things are a little less flowery- her unexpected weight is causing the filigreed pommel of his sabre to dig quite painfully in his side. ]
My sincerest apologies, Miss. [ It's with a certain care that he works to stand, averting a potentially embarrassing false start when he steps off the hem of her dress, cupping her elbows to help her up in turn. ]
Are you injured?

[She scrambles to her feet with his help, then immediately turns her attention to brushing off his coat, trying to make up for the mess she's created--all the while studiously avoiding looking at his face, because if she does she's afraid she'll be horribly embarrassed. The kinds of people she's met lately don't take well even to accidents, and maybe if she can just make everything right quickly enough...]
I'm terribly sorry, I wasn't looking.
no subject
That's quite-
Miss there's no need-
Miss please.
[ James takes her by the hands, trading her worry for his concern. She must surely be new like him, has she been left by herself in such a state? There's a gentleness to his touch, limning his voice as he searches her face. She's a lady of some rank, that much he can tell, but little else about her is springing to notice. ]
Please. There's no harm done. Are you here alone? Forgive me- Commodore James Norrington. [ He offers a brief bow, as custom dictates. ] May I be of some assistance?
no subject
Thank you, that's very kind of you. I am alone, yes, I've just come from another world... and another world... you'd think I'd be better at this by now!
[She blushes.]
Oh, but--I'm Giselle. It's lovely to meet you, Commodore. I was just trying to find my way around the city, actually.
no subject
It's a pleasure, Miss Giselle. I was on my way to do the same. Would you care for the company? [ He offers his arm, all proper gentleman to the lady. ]
no subject
I'd like that very much! It's so nice to find kind-hearted people when you're very far from home.
[A thought occurs, and she cocks her head at him.]
So you're new here too? What House are you in?
no subject
At least it's keeping his mind off home.
... James, she's asked you a question. ]
Yes, unfortunately. I've been assigned to Freya.
no subject
Me too! Oh we're both in Freya, isn't that wonderful? I'm so glad we ran into each other! This is so much nicer than when I arrived in New York!
[Except... "New York" reminds her of Robert, and Morgan. The enthusiasm diminishes slightly, though she keeps the grin plastered on.]
no subject
It is... serendipitous. [ At a loss of what else to say, feeling like he should say something, he pursues her last thread left to him, unaware of her discomfort, ]
You've just come from New York? [ After "congratulations, you're really not even on your own planet anymore!", the Crown's North American colonies seems a lot closer. ]
no subject
[A nod.]
Yes, I've been staying with some friends in New York for a while now, ever since I fell down a well in my own world and ended up there. It's very different than Andalasia... are you from New York? You don't sound like most of the people I met there.
