• OPTIONAL SCENARIO: After your character receives his or her bracelet and the run-down from the faceless maids in the castle, the first thing they realize upon stepping outside is that the city has been all but shut down for some sort of large festival. There are stalls set up along all of the main streets, selling everything from savory foods to desserts to clothes to trinkets, and the vendors cheerfully call at people as they pass, trying to entice them over. The stalls are all decked in incredibly colorful banners and flags, as if attempting to beat back the grayness still lurking in a lot of the city by sheer physical force. Small musical ensembles play on street corners, and one can't go far at all without nearly running into someone juggling or swallowing swords. Good luck finding your god's welcome house in this chaos - the streets are pretty packed with people just milling around!

I admit, I can appreciate the booze, at the very least. I don't know what I'd do if I couldn't drink. And I doubt I'm the only one, in this situation.

[Kara shrugs, raising her drink to her lips again, savoring the taste and slight burn as it goes down her throat.]

That's the point, right? We're supposed to fix it. Bring back the colour. Fight their war. Not like I don't have my own to deal with back home or anything. They don't give a frak about that so long as they get what they are after.

I am sure of it. I was pretty frakked up thinking he was probably dead back home on Caprica waiting for me to rescue him. But he was alive. Waiting for me all that time, to keep my promise to come back for him and save his ass from those frakking toasters. But no. He isn't here. Nobody else from home is. It's just me.

[Which she doesn't seem too upset about, at least. She knows that it's for the best, the fleet needs all the help they can get.]

It is kind of extreme. I know Arya seems keen to fight, but I'd figure most of the kids will find other ways to help out, without risking them getting hurt or killed.

As for the flying, I have. I still need some practice, wasn't initially really able to control it or do much besides kind of hovering a bit.

Destined? Frak if I know. I always hated my mother and Leoben going on about my destiny. Whatever the frak that was supposed to be. But...I do love him. I made a vow before the gods to be with him, and I won't break that. [Though Kara being Kara, she sees her affair with Lee as more 'bending the rules' than breaking her vows. Until he puts a stop to it, anyway.]

I don't know about adoption, but for the most part that I can tell, they have people here willing to look out for them at least. Which is something.
