monthly test drive!!

THE TEST DRIVE MEME
• Got a character you're thinking of reserving/apping this round? PUT THEM HERE! • Threads here can count as your third person sample! • Comment with your character's name and canon! • Make up your own scenario or have them walk into all the doors or leave it blank for others to do it for you! • OPTIONAL SCENARIO: After your character receives his or her bracelet and the run-down from the faceless maids in the castle, the first thing they realize upon stepping outside is that the city has been all but shut down for some sort of large festival. There are stalls set up along all of the main streets, selling everything from savory foods to desserts to clothes to trinkets, and the vendors cheerfully call at people as they pass, trying to entice them over. The stalls are all decked in incredibly colorful banners and flags, as if attempting to beat back the grayness still lurking in a lot of the city by sheer physical force. Small musical ensembles play on street corners, and one can't go far at all without nearly running into someone juggling or swallowing swords. Good luck finding your god's welcome house in this chaos - the streets are pretty packed with people just milling around! And have fun! ♥ |

Of course, these thoughts are then put on the back-burner by what looks like a festival of some kind? The stalls make her think of state fairs when she was a child, back in Virginia, but the people and the things they're selling are so different it's not even worth it. People brush by her without a thought and it's all Annabeth can do to avoid being trampled. Maybe, she thinks, if she can get someone from this festival to talk to her, she can figure out a way back home. It is this thought that sends her off - her head held high, her eyes turned forward, and that pieces of paper still clutched in her hand. Get answers and then get back home. That's the goal, here.

He should look for a job. Or something. Going to the Citadel every day only did so much and he was pretty sure his bathroom mate got tired of weird noises at all times of the night. Staying cooped up in the room all day was also not a plan which was what found the boy out on the streets. He'd been there every day since the festival started and while some of the activities was getting boring he still found things to do.
He'd just stopped staring perplexed at the man swallowing swords and was walking away when he bumped into someone. "Oh, sorr--" his voice cut off when he turned his head to give a give a cursory glance to the person he bumped into, "Annabeth?"

"No, it's my fault, sorr-"
But then she's got her feet set again, and she has the chance to actually see, and she freezes up. "Percy?" There's a moment of silence where she has to make sure she's not just seeing things and that this is definitely her Percy, before she's looking around again. "When did you get here? Where are we? What's going on?"
