Altaïr thinks Alice is an interesting girl because she's clearly got a lot more going on than is obviously apparent--she seems like one of those people who thinks a lot more than they say. He's curious about her, and it's that curiosity plus the general teacher mode thing he's got going on that made him a little pokey-pushy. Certainly he'd be interested to speak with her more.
