Oh, man, what to say about these two... For starters, the Doctor does genuinely like Davesprite, despite basically endless confusion about language and Davesprite's frankly preposterous use of it. The Doctor, while mad in his own way, does like his proper and pretty language. So Davesprite's way of wording things is. QUITE SOMETHING.

But! Also fellow time traveller. And Davesprite's universe seems seriously interesting and all kinds of fascinating. It makes the Doctor want to poke and prod and ask all sorts of things. So that and the fact that Davesprite does seem like a good guy despite everything (the Doctor isn't the kind to judge... that much) makes a good combination of reasons for the Doctor to interact with him. He'll just... deal with the language. All good.
