♥ one: post with your characters.
♠ two: respond to other people's characters with your characters.
♦ three: they tell you in detail what their character thinks of your character. TL;DR is encouraged; that's how this works.
♣ four; optional: discuss it with them if you want! Make a big chain of tl;dr if you're up to it.
♥ five: other people do the same thing to you! Maybe you even harvest your tl;dr to use in a CR chart later.
♠ six: keep checking back in so that no one is ever late!

Ash showed up in Asgard right after the end of his canon (did you finish it? i don't remember a plurk of gross sobbing) without his powers separated from Kieran and he just fell right the fuck apart. He was mentally and physically and emotionally exhausted and then life took everything away from him again because that's just how his life rolls lately.
And Terezi straight up rescued him. She dragged him off the street and calmed him down and made him focus and just generally got him to stop losing his shit for five minutes. That is not a small thing; nobody's talked him down besides Kieran. All the same, if they hadn't ended up roommates, he'd probably have forgotten about her. Or remembered her but not sought her out, because boy has some Issuesssss. But they are roommates.
I've mentioned a bunch of times that Ash just. Doesn't want to make connections. This is dumb and he kinda knows it's dumb because at heart he is a social creature, but he's just incredibly burned and tired and scared and the world keeps taking things away from him. He's a smart kid and sometimes he's a wise kid, but he's also a melodramatic kid and he has this idea that maybe if the only thing he lets matter is Kieran than he'll be allowed to keep that one thing. This is not at all how the world works, Ashes, but good try.
The sum of this is that he likes Terezi more than he's admitting to anyone, including himself. She's smart, she's funny, she's wicked and mean and occasionally shockingly thoughtful and she's also extraordinary. He really does think her ability to smell and the way she deals with her blindness is totally awesome to an extent he tries not to let on to her. He's incredibly curious about her and her world and their way of life and etc etc etc but he's...kind of afraid to ask. Not because she'll go down in esteem or anything but because he's aware that there's a big crack down the middle of him and he has no idea whether he's equipped to handle another person's issues to the extent that he can tell Tz has issues. (He tells himself this is a want thing, but no, it's actually a can thing.) He sure did get mad as hell about it, but he's positive there is a very good reason Tz is scared of telepathy. He doesn't think that he has any right to dig into something that might make him crack, because that's just a shit thing to do. So he keeps holding her at arm's length.
I'm pretty sure that once he's got his empathy with Kieran back, he's going to unclench and rejoin the world a bit, though, so odds are good that he'll stop being such a broken douche soon.
