OKAY THE USUAL INTRODUCTION WHICH YOU ALREADY KNOW: With repetition you get better, and interacting with someone you get to see them individually. Eventually. At least that’s how it works for Kaworu and that’s how he ends up seeing someone individually. It’s extremely difficult for him to see someone like that, but when it happens, he grows so fond of that person.

Kaworu’s love doesn’t have a proper definition, it doesn’t have limits. As matter of fact, Kaworu’s love is unconditional and very (literally) alien because he IS an alien. It’s not romantic, friendship, family, sympathy, pity, enjoyment, care, fun… it’s none of those because those would NEVER be enough to describe the sort of love Kaworu has for someone he sees individually. Kaworu’s love has no limits to define it. He isn’t “in love”, he just loves. The best way to describe this love is to call it “Love”. It’s its own definition.

SO LINK, Kaworu loves you and there is no way of ever changing that.

Kaworu loves Link who is so out of touch with what he actually feels and substitutes it with duty. He loves Link who asks so much about others but not himself. And he wants Link to ask about himself, and thus to be happy with himself. He wants Link’s happiness, but while Kaworu does indeed try to give him all of his love and all of his being to link, link is the one who needs to learn to be happy. If talking will help, he will do it.

Link was the one who actually lead Kaworu to first create. Ever. And though he probably didn’t realize how that means so much to Kaworu. Their duet, even if many wouldn’t consider it a duet, was the first step of Kaworu to create.

However, the Link Kaworu learned to love is, unfortunately, gone. That doesn’t really make any difference to Kaworu, because he loves Link’s being and not his memories, but he is afraid Link isn’t comfortable with him. Honestly, would you? Someone whom knows so much about you to a deeper level, yet you don’t remember any of it.

It’s not that Kaworu threads carefully, but he also doesn’t want to rely on that when talking to Link. He wants to get to know him again and tell him all these things again, not as “we talked about it before” but as a “we are talking about it now”. All these talks they had before? Yeah, kaworu is much willing to have them again in time, but he won’t push for them.

But yeah Link can't define it, even though he's tried to in his mind..and in their conversations.

He got Link to talk, which is one giant hurdle. And Link's comfortable enough to do that, at this point. It's a good thing.
