Davesprite feels incredibly, incredibly guilty about the way he's treated Jade and is very sure he'd deserve it if she finally told him to fuck off. Which...was kind of the goal, in a lot of ways, even if it would have really hurt. Knowing that he's done enough that she's kind of given up hurts, because he still really cares about her and knows he is being a gigantic dick. So it's more because he knows he's hurting her and it turns into this weird circular thing because Davesprite sucks.

He's also sorry he isn't real Dave. Because who knows, maybe things would have worked out then, though he's very unsure if they would have ever gotten together in a place like Asgard. Maybe they only dated because there was literally no one else, because why else would you date someone with a ghost butt (although I think on some unacknowledged level, Davesprite knows that's bullshit).

It was actually a genuine holy shit moment when he found out (or thought he did, since they weren't together yet, but the actual reveal counts, too) Jade was dating Draco. Because until that point, I don't think he had genuinely processed how long she'd been here. It was...an awkward realization? I don't think he's moved on nearly as much as he'd like to say, so the fact she's so far ahead has him kind of what the hell. Though it also reinforces the idea that he's going to be left behind like he thought in the new session, because everyone else has shit to do and they don't need him hanging around. Which is one of many reasons he promptly evacuated with the other sprites.

...I am pretty sure he still has a crush on her. I wasn't going to say anything about it, haha, but then you brought it up with Jade. So that is a thing, in a weird I will never act on this ever again kind of way. Like it's so hideously cliché, but he genuinely hopes she's happy and that Draco makes her happy and that he keeps her happy, because Davesprite sure as fuck couldn't. Even though he doubts the permanence of Asgard and still suspects, just by virtue of being here, they might be doomed.

But he appreciates everything she's ever done for him and just. For trying? To help him out, even when there's nothing anyone can do. She's always been a bright spot for him, along with John and Rose, and she's the only one who's been there constantly for the last three years, even when he shut her out. There's also this weird connection he shares with Jade and Rose that he doesn't with John, because Rose has memories of the doomed timeline and Jade has Jadesprite's memories. Even if neither of them can remember exactly and it's only bits and pieces, it probably gives them both a much better understanding of what Davesprite is going through than they would otherwise. And I think, when things were rough with John, Jade was a reminder that yes, what you did was fucking worth it and you would do it all over again for them, you asshole.

But precisely because Jade is so important to him (along with the other kids), Davesprite feels obligated to cut himself out of her life. Because she deserves better and he doesn't want her to be sad when he finally goes. He...actually hopes she never finds out how he dies or maybe even if he does for sure. Maybe he'll just disappear off the Sburban map and into obscurity. He thinks that'd be alright.
