Samantha Grey - Chariot & Moon

Samantha is a person of rigid, hard self control, focusing on holding herself at bay from any of the demons that she feels waging war inside of her. She is nearly obsessed (The Devil is one of her weak points) with making sure that she does not lose control over her own personality, which is the source of an unending frustration for her, and part of the reason that she has so much trouble with her social interactions. She is fiercely assertive and well aware of what she feels that she is, oftentimes to the exclusion of seeing what is around her. She attempts to curb her impulses, but the rigidity of her focus in this leads to an inherent weakness in her...

Which is seen in the Moon. Samantha is deeply afraid of herself and prone to incredible levels of fantasy. She wishes she were anything but what she was, that she was able to love, to have friends, to have what she considers a 'normal life' again. Part of her just wants to go back into the little home she and her mother lived in and get away from the thing she's become. She fantasizes about being free of her father, about falling in love, and despises herself for her inability to actually do that. She is terrified of her own fantasies and deceives herself almost constantly about what is possible in her life. For all that she looks on the surface brave in the face of impossible odds, she is in fact something of a coward, and the closest thing she has done to being brave is attempting to make friends or find a romantic life in Asgard. Even then, it has been a struggle.

The Magician + The Devil
The Chariot is gone, now unleashed without a shred of control, Abrienda (usually called "Evil Sam") is a raging fountain of realized potential. She acts without thought, without limitation and obsessively seeks whatever goal she can manage to get her claws on. To her, nothing is impossible, nothing refused, nothing denied. She will take whatever she wishes and control all that she desires. All of the rigidity is lost in favor of unbridled action, usually without thought for the consequences (as opposed to the rigidity and obsession over consequences Samantha usually possesses).

Her desires reflect the fact that her fantasies have now become reality. Rather than craving the illusions of "What ifs," she has become intensely focused on material wishes. She becomes obsessed, her former focus aimed at having what it desires, whatever it desires, whenever it desires it. She is a slave to her demonic whims and adores her chains, reveling in them. Her world is narrow, focused only upon the latest passions, those who have slighted her and the cravings she possesses. Everything is hopeless, her debauchery like the dancing and drinking of one at the end of the world, intent on riding it until everything burns around her, oftentimes by her own hands.

I'm sorry I won't be using the Persona cards; there are official Evangelion Arcana Cards so I will be speaking of those. Because they do fit Kaworu.

K A W O R U . N A G I S A . "T A B R I S"

THE HIEROPHANT
Related to the Evangelion canon, Kaworu is a character very related to religious symbolism (even if there is no religion per say, in Evangelion), being the epitome of unconditional love for another, self-sacrifice and positiveness. It's no wonder he falls into the "jesus type of shounen characters" list, and it's no wonder he was chosen to represent the Hierophant card.
The Hierophant's purpose is to bring the spiritual down to Earth, leading his flock in shared, communal rituals. The Hierophant is well suited as he strives to create harmony and peace in the midst of crisis. No matter how chaotic and frightening the times, this can bring tranquility.
The Hierophant's only problem - Kaworu's biggest problem - is that he doesn't favor individuality. Harmony cannot be achieved if everyone is marching to their own drummer. The Hierophant is about shared feelings, beliefs and ways. Which greatly fits Kaworu who doesn't not see individuality.
Kaworu is always searching for more information and learning new things; he excels at the things he learns due to his intelligence, and he is always very willing to learn more about what he doesn't know.

THE MOON
This was the second Arcana card in Evangelion Arcana deck, that Kaworu represented. The Moon card isn't actually about Kaworu, but it's mostly about how Kaworu reaches out to others.
The Moon is all about visions and illusions, madness, genius and poetry. It can be a very scary card related to hidden enemies, mental difficulties, or a very good card, relating to genius, of mental breakthroughs, astonishing creativity, powerful magic, and intuition. It warns about a time of emotional and mental trial. it's about fear, losing your way, anxieties. Kaworu has none of this. But he, in fact, reaches out for all of those who get this card.
Connecting most to the negative spectrum of the Human Heart, Kaworu searches for those that are most hurt and connects with them the most, or completely clashes. His words (and actions, in Shinji's case) often do hit the nail, but they can either bring distress or they can bring immense happiness. Those who have lost their way, those who have become confused and hurt, Kaworu reaches out for them to try and hold them through this trial. He hopes to fade the false truths people hold in their hearts - that they aren't worth it, the fear of connection - and hopes to give enlightenment (see the Hierophant card).

DEATH
No one should be surprised about this one. This card represents: the beginning of a new life. Transformation and change. The end of a phase in life which has served its purpose. Abrupt and complete change of circumstances, way of life and patterns of behaviour. Alterations.
The Death card is about endings, and that includes the ending of a life (Kaworu died), but not exclusively. Death can mean the "end" of anything: The end of an era, the end of a trip, the conclusion of a very rough week. Any and all of these as well as a million more possible interpretations can be applied to the Death card. Mostly the End of Evangelion, because after Kaworu everything went down spiraling in the anime |8 No, I'm kidding, but his death did represent much. How Kaworu's viewpoint on Humans changed, the fact that Shinji learned he could be loved, the last angel being killed, the beginning of Instrumentality Project and many other related things that only those who know the canon remember.
Even more important to remember: the Death card is less about something dying then about how a person deals with endings. It's as much about transformation as about loss. And so this fits Kaworu all over. Not only because of what happened in canon, but because Kaworu himself as begun to change since he arrived in Asgard.

+ 7 of Swords +

Nick

The Emperor + 7 of Swords + Death

Before everything went to absolute ruin back home, Nick was a ruler. He was a leader, one who everyone looked up to, and even though his personality was as arrogant as it is now, he really did genuinely care about his people and tried his best to keep them safe. He was very wise, possibly even more so than his fellow rulers (he was the only one who was wary of siding with the human beings), and used his power to ensure that his people would be safe and sound in this human world they found themselves in. The Emperor is a fathering figure of authority, which was exactly what Nick was and still is a little bit to this day.

But disaster struck when he and his fellow rulers were discovered, as well as the fact that consuming a certain part of them, the wings on their faces, would give anyone immortality. This prompted the human race to go on a witch hunt for rulers like Nick, and Nick, fraught with cowardice and a selfish need to save his own life, forced himself into a simpler form so he could go and hide. Instead of staying the ruler of his people, he abandoned his position to live on his own, no longer trusting anyone he came across. The Seven of Swords characterizes a person who shirks their responsibility, choosing a path of dishonor and a lone-wolf attitude as well as lying about who they really are. Out of all the cards, Nick fits the Seven of Swords the most.

Finally, the last card that fits him is Death, because all in all, he had to acknowledge that he couldn't do a thing about his situation. His reign was over, he was in hiding, and he could only sit back and wait until the mobs died down before beginning to pick up the pieces of what was left of his race. Death is a card of endings, of being cast adrift into unknown circumstances while the door of the past shuts firmly behind you. Although Nick regrets what he has done, he has to move forward and hope that the future will bring him something better in life.
