Restoring life and color to the land? How are we meant to do that?

[Surely it can't mean actually...painting the town. As exhausting a task as that might be - it just sounds too easy.]

[ Fact. She and Merlin, bane of Camelot's existence. ]

Through our emotions and interactions, if you'll believe it. They would have us hugging and weeping on each other's shoulders.

[ Not only is it not easy, but it makes no gods-damned sense. ]

[No -- it really makes absolutely no sense.]

Our emotions and interactions will bring life and color to the land?

[Alright this is confusing and he's had quite enough of trying to understand all of it right now.]

I suppose it might come to make some sort of sense with time - I confess it makes very little at the moment.

[ Arthur laughs lightly, a bit of relief in their shared disbelief. ]

Trust me, I have been here near two moons now and it still makes little sense to me, if any at all.

[Well that's not encouraging but at least there's good company.]

Are there others from Camelot here? You mentioned Sir Leon has gone -- so then there must be a way home?

There are. Guinevere, Merlin and the lovely Lady Morgana are with us.

[ Lovely. Absolutely lovely. ]

Gwaine was here as well at one point, but both he and Leon vanished without a word. We've no idea if they did something or they simply left in their sleep, but they were both gone by morning.

[So his grand plan not to come between Guinevere and Arthur -- foiled within hours. That's just amazing. He tries not to react to much to the names and just nod until --]

Gwaine? [Arthur says the name like it should hold some meaning to him but for the life of him he can't remember anyone with such a name] Who is Gwaine?

[ Ignorant as always, Arthur simply groans at the reminder of the time between them. ]

Gods, I'd forgotten. What do you last recall?

[ If he doesn't know Gwaine, then he must come from before the war, before Morgana -

He suddenly becomes a bit more anxious to know. This is essential, he thinks, because he will not allow for something to come between the bond they have formed. ]

We've rescued Guinevere from Hengist.

[It's so very strange to have to remind Arthur of that, when it was only done hours ago. But hey maybe now they could talk about that knighthood.]

[ He repeats shortly, a sudden awkward tension in his shoulders. The affections between he and Guinevere had not gone unnoticed, and with his current relationship with her -

Well, as I said, time does not flow evenly here. I have lived near three years past the rescue you speak of.

[Said affections make being here just incredibly awkward. He left for a reason and leaving was difficult enough to manage without the universe stepping in and being a troll.]

[ Oh, how he wishes he were. He lets out a soft breath, smiles lightly. ]

[ And Arthur nudges him a bit playfully, because he remembers how much they'd both fought for it once upon a time. ]

[Sir Lancelot - Knight of Camelot. Yes good now we've reached the right topic. Although he's hesitant to ask because the only way he sees that happening is -]

Should I call you King Arthur now, then?

[Because there's no way Uther would allow it if he lives.]

[ He sighs, something almost amused but also something - off. There's more to be said here, but Arthur is damn sure not going to say it. ]

You could, half of the city seems keen to do so, but I am not yet King.

[ His father still lives - he thinks. He hopes. ]

You came to my aid in a time of need, as you have done before and would undoubtedly do again. You are a man of honour, Lancelot, and a worthy Knight as any. My father will simply have to learn to accept that.

[ What a rebel. He gave that bitch knighthood. Bitches love knighthood. ]

[ But before this can turn into some soppy Moment, Arthur clears his throat and ducks his head. ]

Well, I suspect Merlin will want to weep like a little girl all over you, so we may as well head home to announce your arrival.

[He laughs]
