[There's no Pluto. Not even a normal, non-Disney looking dog around.

But if Kairi looks, she might see the back of a familiar head of silver head half-way down the block walking away from her, seemingly oblivious.

Approach the sheepdog? Y/Y?]

[...orly. She pauses in her searching, eyes locking on the back of that head.] Riku? [Just how long had it been since she last saw him? A year, over a year, even, at least. But she knew she wasn't imagining it. She couldn't be imagining it. She'd know her best friend anywhere, and with that in mind she makes the impulsive decision to break into a light run to catch up with him.]

Hey! [She picks up speed, soon approaching his side and trying to lean around and peer into his face.]

[Hearing her voice, he almost turns around automatically, but she's by his side too quickly and he bumps into her by accident.

It's no lie. It's really her, but he's blinking a few times before the confusion and skepticism is gone. Please let it not be a trick.]

Hey yourself, Kairi.

[When he bumps into her, she briefly stumbles back but balances herself again so she's only a few feet away. If he's watching closely, he'll see the same look, the same feelings, reflected in her face before they slowly melt away into something of a relieved grin.]

Riku...it's really you? [Well of course it is, but it's still so hard to believe.]

[He kind of understands and knows that look. It's the same kind of look he's giving her, and the same kind that she first gave him when she was here the first time months ago.

So it's been a long time for her then. Any kind of a smile on his face dims to a faint shadow of smile. She doesn't remember, and then she does, and it's back to the beginning. Back to the year they were all apart.]

Yeah, it is.

[Her own smile flickers just slightly as she notices the change. She tilts her head briefly before deciding to take the lighter, teasing route, grabbing a hold of his arm just to make sure he's really physically there.]

Don't look so happy to see me. Your face might split from all that smiling. [Instinctively she knows there's something off, something he's not telling her yet. She's giving him a chance to share himself though before she wrestles it out of him.]

[Alright, that got him to crack a smile. He knows how unhappy he looks sometimes, how straightfaced he can be. But hey! She's got a point. And when she takes his arm, he knows she's real too.

She's back, and he... he really shouldn't be angry or annoyed or so serious with her now. It's a reason to celebrate.]

Please. As if that would happen. I'm just saving the best smile for a special occasion.

This isn't special enough? [She can't help but laugh. And hopefully you won't want your arm back anytime soon, bro. She's not quite ready to release it yet.] Thanks a lot, Riku. Guess I'll have to step it up.

[Eh, he doesn't mind having his arm confiscated by her.] Hey, you and Sora both. You've been slacking off in making me smile, you lazy bums.

Don't you worry. We'll come up with a great plan to keep you smiling all the time. [She pauses then, debating which of her two questions she wants to ask first.] So where are we this time?

Heh, you two can try. [Well, she knew Sora's name at least. That, in his mind, was a very, very good sign.]

A city called Asgard. It's ruled by a group of beings that call themselves gods.

[Her other question might have to wait, since he's got one of his own.] Speaking of which, was there a woman that greeted you? Did she tell you about the Houses?

[Eh, it took her a while but she remembers everything now! Don't worry, Riku.]

The faceless woman? [She nods slowly, still only slightly unnerved by the information she was given.] Yeah. She also gave me this. [She holds up her left wrist from which a silver bracelet with a greenish stone symbolizing Sigyn's house is dangling.] So she was telling the truth? We have to grow in the city?

[Sigyn. Just like the other two times. He knows that people have swapped Houses before after they left and returned. He smiles, finding it relieving to know she hasn't changed.]

Something like that. To bring colour and life back into the city and residents, through... interacting with others, I guess.

There's already been a little bit of improvement. Some colour's come back, but not enough.

That doesn't sound too bad. It'll be easy now that we're together again. [She's sure of it! If it just means interacting with others in the city and growing friendships...well, that's nothing new, right?] Riku...how long has it been since you got here?

...Right. [Nothing new for them, but when he does think about it, he's find surprised at all the people he has met.

...Oh, this though... he's getting a feeling that this question is going to open a nice, fat can of worms and confusion and Light knows what else.]

...A couple months. Three or four.

...[Uh huh, nope, suddenly everything stopped making sense.]

Months? Wait a minute, are you really saying you've been gone from the island for so long because you ended up here instead?

[He turns his head just slightly so he doesn't have to look at her directly in the eyes.]

A-ah, no. I was gone from the Island for a lot longer... and for different reasons.

Time works... a little funny here.

[Suspiciousssss. She's going to move just a bit to try and meet his eyes again.] A little funny? Riku, I haven't seen you or Sora in a year. Just how funny is a little funny?

Because, when I came here, we already had found each other. And it had been more than a year.
