That's pretty do-able, though I'm wondering if I take him post VN / ova if it will cause any major problems. I don't think it would ? Given how the only two people that remember what happened are him and Kurisu and he doesn't mention anything big to Mayuri and Daru.

Nah, that won't cause problems. That's totes okay to do. Mayuri's concerned for Okabe but he doesn't really tell her anything so it's fine, yeah.
