Of course, her recent situation has left her kind of mistrustful, and talking about the "right thing" and hope just makes her suspicious. There was hope of a cure at home, but hope dwindles until you're trapped with the monsters closing in around you.

Then again, she was somehow transported here instead of being left there to die. Does that mean something? Should she be reading into it? She doesn't really know the answer to that.
