[ a long answer. he frowns, trying to process, to find an explanation that makes any sort of sense, a meaning.

no, he can't do it, no matter how he turns this problem in his head, he still can't come up with anything that makes any semblance of sense. he follows steve instinctively, his body running on auto pilot as his mind just - runs all over the place.

steve seems to understand what's going on and that alone is reassuring. he was out of it when steve picked him up in austria, and that worked out fine, why should this be any different? is this really that much crazier than everything else they've walked away from in this war? not really, honestly. it's just a different kind of crazy. ]


How's my family? [ he can hold off on the hows, whats, and whys - but some questions shouldn't really be that difficult, and he's eager. it's been a long time since his last letter from home, moving around as much as the commandos do - did? - makes it hard for mail to track you down. ]
