[ He turns, makes sure there is no one around to get in his way — and then withdraws his sword from its sheath. It's second nature to him, at this point, to draw himself up, and then slash through the air to open up a portal.
When nothing happens, however, that rankles. He's unused to this result. So he does it again. And again.
Why isn't it working?

[ Vergil can mostly be found poring over stacks of books, trying to learn as much as he can. If you try to take one of his books, a sword (still sheathed, don't worry) is going to slap it out of your hand.
He doesn't like to share. But you're welcome to try.
Past that, he'll be skulking around Odin and Heimdall's districts, primarily, investigating and trying to learn more about these supposed "gods" he's meant to tether himself to. ]
This is ridiculous. Why should any of us need bind ourselves to any of these creatures?
