"Things aren't trying to kill us all the time," Owen says, as he swerves out of the way of the snowball. At Horatio's question, Owen pauses. He's only English on a technicality (and an accent), but there is no way that he's explaining his situation fully to Hornblower, especially since he had a feeling the man would scoff at the idea of fairies, magic, and other supernatural beings.
