"What? Why not?" Jade turns when he stops and finally just gives up, kneeling down to feed the rest of her ice cream cone to the dog. "Um - this place is really weird. Magic and stuff-- no time passes at home while you're here. And no one remembers being here when they get home, either.. it's just kind of how the gods' magic works. I know that's a really dumb answer."

She pauses, then, and perks.
