[Look up in the sky! It's a bird, it's a plane, it's...Draco Malfoy, actually! This isn't unusual for Draco to be flying around the city of Asgard...but it is unusual for him to see people that are from his home world and the fact that Hermione Granger is standing maybe 20 feet in front of him is a.) bizarre and b.) a bit disconcerting.

He lands ten feet away softly in the snow, bringing together his composure so his surprise didn't show. And he begins striding up to her. It's not something he wants to do, considering the last time he saw her dear auntie Bella was cutting right into her skin. Not very pleasant for anyone, really. But Asgard's changed him, and he's well aware he's got the upper hand in this situation.]

Granger. What the hell are you doing here?

( Well, that's a new one. Magical flying wasn't unusual, but it did require a certain amount of control and she hadn't known Draco Malfoy to possess that kind of power; even after the war, when he'd been questioned .. she'd been given those reports and hadn't realized-- had he been keeping secrets from the Ministry? If he'd been lying, he would go straight to Azkaban!

Oh. Right. He was right there. Reflexively, she tugged her right sleeve further down, balling it in her fist, scar aching slightly. A souvenir from his aunt. From the war. )

I just got here. Some magical simulacrum gave me a piece of paper and shoved me out into the cold, telling me I'm here to fight some war, ( as if she hasn't had enough of those ) ) and now I'm here. Talking to you.

( Temper, Hermione. He ended up on your side, remember? )

[And he of course has absolutely no idea she's thinking any of these thoughts. He's got absolutely no clue about anything Hermione's thinking or feeling, though he's observant enough to notice that she's fiddling with her sleeve.

Damnit. So he at least knows she's past that. He doesn't say anything for a moment, critically examining her to try and pinpoint what's different about her. His hands slip into his pockets and he huffs through his nose, bangs flaring up a bit away from his forehead with the burst of air.]

The faceless maid, you mean. [He gives a bitter smirk, merely mean for appearances.] Well lucky you. At least you and I have the prerequisites required to be here. War's our forte, wouldn't you say?

He might notice that she's a bit more tired than usual - maybe she's not sleeping well, but who has been during wartime? - and skinnier. If he looks deeper, there is a deep sense of relief. But he might not see it, now, since her eyes are currently flaring with anger. ]

I'm not so stupid as to think that you mean that, Malfoy. We were children, the war is-- was reckless and unfair. This one isn't any different! [ It still hadn't completely hit her she could talk about it in past tense. ] The last thing I want to do is fight .. in another...

You may well! They do appear to us from time to time, mostly over the bracelet network. Although they do come out to play if we're attacked.

[Everything that was said up onto that point has completely left his mind. All he can do is just stare at her with a look of shock and disbelief, slowly melting into a sneer.]

She'd heard rumors about the Malfoy family after the end of the war, but she hadn't expected to see it in the flesh .. she'd taken to keeping out of sight and the public eye. But now, it was hard to deny it when she could see it right in front of her. )

Malfoy. ( Let's try a soothing tone here. ) I saw him die. I saw it happen, I saw his body afterwards. ( And the bodies of so many she knew, so many dead .. they haunted her nightmares. )
