... I was desperate. I didn't know when my time was coming, and there was something I had to finish.

But the difference is that I didn't believe in taking help back then. I believed that you had to do things yourself, or they weren't worth doing. They had no value. My friends here have taught me that isn't true, so I'll never be so desperate again.

Nabe deliberately sent me to an old friend of my mom's; he took me out for a nice dinner, then said he refused to go through with it. In the end, it turned out that my mom had been saving all of my sewing money for me, so I could use that instead.
