And now for something completely different!
As some of you may know, I teach English at a Junior High School in Japan. I've been given permission to do a postcard exchange with my students and I'm looking for volunteers from a variety of countries to help me out! You need to be willing to:
1. Send me a photo of yourself and write a little blurb to go with it -- name, age (if you're comfortable), where you're from, your hobbies and something about Japan you like/are interested in and a question for my students -- and a postal address!
2. Using your blurb I'm going to construct an example postcard for my kids who will then write a very basic postcard to you in English. You'll probably get between 6-7 postcards to read and reply to.
I won't be able to recompense you for the postage or cost of postcards, but I will try to slip a present from Japan in with the postcards when I send them as a thank you! I'm going to prepare the class this week, teach it next week, and it'll probably be the week after that your postcards arrive. If you have the time and don't mind, please comment with your country and I'll get back to you!
I already have friends from Canada and NZ helping me out, so looking for different countries please! Thank you!
Wow -- thank you! This was a huge response and I am happy to say I have all the people I think I need! However, if you'd like to be involved as a back-up in case things get busier than expected for my volunteers, please drop a comment! Thank you Asgard! <3
